I think it’s Gerik and Emmy’s Christine from the 2004 film. The pair’s mental states and Liebe for each others seemed essentially Mehr stable and genuine, than in other versions.

Gerik was clearly far less insane than any of the stage Phantoms I’ve seen, not to mention Leroux’s original Erik. He never even physically abused Christine. (Yes, he quite violently dragged her down to the lair in the end, but it didn’t seem to actually hurt her, and when he calmed down he was very gentle for...

I originally gepostet this on IMDB's board as VampireOutlaw.

No one wanted a sequel, <-- (generally speaking), it was still made, the critiques hate it, the Fans hate it, it keeps on having to close down...Yet it's still here?
I know it has its share of fans, but nonetheless the crucially and strongly negative reception seems to be the situation in general.

So why the bloody hell does ALW not give up? oder if he can't bring himself to, why does he keep on trying with only minor changes?

~ First a sidenote:
Love Never Dies is not a sequel to the 2004 movie because that movie is Joel Schumacher's interpretation...

What I Would Liebe to See in a Phantom Movie...and Why I'm Fairly Sure it Won't Happen

I was watching the silent Lon Chaney version of "The Phantom of the Opera" earlier on TCM, and I began to do some pondering about the many Phantom movies.

When someone thinks of The Phantom of the Opera, often there are two iconic Bilder that will come to mind. One is the famous unmasking of Lon Chaney, rightfully recognized as one of the very iconic Bilder of not only horror, but of cinema itself. His face makeup is taken from the original novel's Beschreibung of Erik, as someone with a horrible deformity from birth that gives him a terrifying corpse-like appearance.

I have seen T.P.O.T.O many times, and most of them have been the 25th anniversary performance. This performance is by-far my favorite. Ramin Kariloo is the BEST Phantom I have ever seen. Sierra Boggess is also the best Christine. Hadley Fraser is one of the best Raoul's I have seen. Even Meg and Madame Giry were fantastic. Carlotta was probably my least Favorit actress. I enjoyed this performance so much better because the actors seemed like they were literally their characters. I hope Du enjoyed this and Du can watch the entire performance on youtube. Thanks!

ALW film: The ending's meaning?

There are various interpretations of why the old Raoul brings the monkey Musik box to her grave and some even think that all the old Raoul parts of the movie are completely useless. However, I'm one of those who believe that while the film would've worked perfectly well even without Raoul travelling anywhere with the Musik box, all the old Raoul clips are perhaps the most essential aspect of the entire film's basic point. I think they are the ultimate aspect that drastically differs the film from the stage play.

Book Character analaysis: Carlotta

Carlotta is writen as a horrid character. She tells rumors and plans schemes to eliminate christine as her competition. I think what is often overlooked is that Carlotta is one of the so many victims of the book. From what is written Du can tell that Carlotta was extremely talented as an opera singer as the book mentions how perfect an instrument her voice was. An Attempt to (at least partially) Rationalize LND

It is no secret that I'm not fond of Liebe Never Dies. I don't like the idea of ALW making a sequel to a Zeigen that had no need of one, I don't like the fact that although a good portion of the Musik (while fairly pretty) has been recycled oder pinched from other sources while Wee Andy brags about how it's the best thing he's ever done and it's SO original, and I especially am appalled Von what has been done to the characters.
