Superman is DC's first super hero in addition to being 1 of the best super Heroes of all time. Superman doesn't have as many iconic villains as Batman, but he does have some cool enemies. This Liste is about my 5 Favorit enemies of Superman.

5. Mr. Mxyzptlk

Mr. Mxyzptlk is a trouble making antagonist. He is Mehr of a comedic villain than the other Superman villains. He manages to annoy Superman a lot. Mr. Mxyzptlk is 1 of Superman's most entertaining enemies. He truly shines in Superman: The Animated Series where is amusingly voiced Von Gilbert Gottfried.

4. Doomsday

Doomsday may not be that prominent in the Superman franchise, but he sure is important and dangerous. He defeated Superman! He is nearly as powerful as Superman. Their fight is 1 of DC's most iconic and coolest fight scenes. Doomsday is menacing and cool looking.

3. Darkseid

Darkseid is 1 of DC's strongest villains. He is the leader a planet called Apokolips. He is so evil and cruel that even Superman was tempted to destroy him. Darkseid makes both Superman and Justice League Mehr exciting Von being 1 of their most threatening enemies. There...

Ever since New 52 Superman died, the Superman fandom has been teilt, split between those who are overjoyed the pre-Flashpoint Superman is coming back and those who actually liked N52 Superman’s stories.

I will not speak about the new Superman movies. That’s another matter of debate.

For the most part, I was on the fence about New 52 Supes. There were good stories, like Superman Unchained and Superman: Doomed, but so far there was nothing on the New 52 that could be considered transcendent oder groundbreaking for the Man of Steel. Superman: Truth, however, was a proverbial brick to the testicles.

Grant Morrison was a major critic of the New 52 and attempted to recreate the Mehr lighthearted elements of Superman in his Action Comics run. This seemed to be a general complaint about the New 52, which similarly featured Heroes who had long been paragons of virtue made darker and Mehr aggressive.

- The villians are Lex Luthor and Metallo

- Batman forms a UN type deal to stop Superman from destroying another city

- Aquaman is in it, but not called Aquaman. He’s there because the world engine in the ocean did something to the fish

- Wonder woman poses as a Wayne Enterprises investor to retrieve an item that belongs to her people.

- Lex Luthor is in the shadows a lot, a manipulator. Not much face time with Superman.

- Robin betrayed Batman at some point, leading to a falling out between them

- The Batcave was super cool looking, and the mobile looked similar to Burton’s

- Lois is investigating Lex.

- Metallo “kills” Clark

- The Daily Planet is bought Von Lex Luthor for PR purposes

- At the end Superman is living in exile, and the Justice League is a government approved superhero team.

I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
I'm just out to find
The better part of me

I'm Mehr than a bird, I'm Mehr than a plane
I'm Mehr than some pretty face beside a train
And it's not easy to be me

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a Home I'll never see

It may sound absurd, but don't be naive
Even Heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed, but won't Du concede
Even Heroes have the right to dream
It's not easy to be me

Up, up and away, away from me
It's all right, Du can all sleep sound tonight
I'm not crazy, oder anything

I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
Men weren't meant to ride
With clouds between their knees

I'm only a man in a silly red sheet
Digging for kryptonite on this one way street
Only a man in a funny red sheet
Looking for special things inside of me

I just got this book and I have readit three times inorder to be able to make a correct and serious review.

This is based on my opinion of the book and Superman in general.

The Story
It is a retelling of Clark's first time leaving Smallville and trying to create a life for himself in the big ciy of Metropolis.

It tells the story of Supermans origin without feeling old oder cliché

This story is exactly what I want a Superman cartoon oder movie to be like but since this was to "realistic" I don't think that will ever happen.

One thing I can complain about is how Clark finds out about his Alien heritage, I just don't think that was a good move.

The Characters

The only character I can say much about is Clark, He is very interesting in this book and he is also alot Mehr relatable than most versions.

He is trying to find something to do with his life and he is very unsuccesful.

The difference between cinema of this type of yesterday and today is one very important person -- Quentin Tarantino. Observe--

Before Tarantino, movie studios were always quick to disregard comics because of the plausibility issues. Screenplays were, in Hollywood, always considered to be superior to comic Bücher for that particular reason. Evidence of this is all over the original Superman and Batman movies. Superman III is the most glowing example of the way pre-Tarantino movie studios regarded comics because the stories are right there...but made with the aim of grounding it in as close to reality as possible. Unfortunately, with Superman III came the task of doing this with Mr. Mxyzptlk, Brainiac, and Bizarro -- probably the three hardest challenges to do this with. In order to bring Mr. Mxyzptlk to the screen, we have to do a few things Warner Brothers would cry over -- have a tiny man floating around in a bright arsch orange and purple outfit dispensing spells that will make the whole thing feel like Labrinyth. An encounter with Braniac entails entire skyscrapers being eaten. And Bizarro would guarantee parent advocate groups because with the pin that says...

1. WTF is wrong with Superman Returns?
2. Did anyone know that Superman is an American staple? Is it save to say Mickey maus will soon be a sewer rat? The American flag will have polka-dots? Coca-Cola will taste like warm Michelob? Sony will start making crappy defective video game products?.......oh.
3. The kid was too young. He was an excellent Clark Kent. Teenage Superman is stupid. I got a film idea for Brandon Routh's teenage Superman (go and look! It sucks but look anyway!) but here it didn't work.

Mr. Mxyzptlk, Susie Tompkins, and Bizarro have to be in the Weiter Superman. Du can introduce Lex Luthor here being a philanthropist and being at fundraisers where Perry White is who loves him because they fund him, all the while he's building a military base at Metropolis Airport and bribing members of the military to work for him, that way in the Weiter one, he can start sending all those missiles and warheads at Superman. What Du do here as Superman's just arriving in Metropolis is explain why Metropolis? He was flying along the eastern seaboard, saw a commotion around New Yorkish, and then after saving the day, he's on his way out and notices a tiny planet above a building. He's intrigued. What the heck is going on with that? He flies in. It's the Daily Planet. He thinks it over -- how better to figure out what's going on in the world so the people who get saved Von me aren't just lucky to be in the wrong place at the right time? He's falls for Lois of course who is one of those ambitious journalists who's so restless and wants to achieve things so bad that she's got no patience to wait for a story to come to her. Susie Tompkins is Lois Lane's niece and he's staying with...

Red Son
Below is an essay I had to write for a college Film Genre Class:

In 1978, when Christopher Reeves flew on to the silver screen as the Last Son of Krypton, the superhero film genre was born. The film Superman: The Movie would go on to establish the narrative structure that is still used in the superhero films made today. Budgeted in 1977 at $55 million, it would set many precedents for the popcorn blockbuster, “not the least of which was the idea of hiring big stars in action genres that previously were made under mostly B-picture budgets” (McAllister, 110).

The first and most important thing of the narrative structure in superhero films is of course, the origin story. The Man of Steel’s origin reflects many of the same themes as some biblical stories. But the closest of the stories that it resembles is the story of Moses, who was sent down a river Von his mother when a Pharaoh ordered all newborn Hebrew boys to be killed, and ended up being adopted into the Egyptian royal family. He was later commanded Von God to deliver the Hebrews from slavery. This closely resembles the origin story of Kal-El a.k.a Clark Kent in the way that he was sent to Earth in...
