I predicted this as soon as he finally stood up to the sheriff and basically gave him a "screw you" look in the premiere of series 3. That realization that he didn't need him anymore paved the way for becoming an outlaw and it was awesome to watch him evolve without that evil trolls influence.

I was ecstatic. I loved Guy from the very first episode, even though he was a baddie. His teetering balance on the line of good and evil really showed he had the potential to be a good guy and fight for justice, his pride and power were just in the way for a while.
