 Marianne Bourg
Marianne Bourg
European actress Marianne Bourg is earning some big laughs in America with appearances in Universal Pictures “Neighbors” and the indie-flick “Helicopter Mom.”

A mix of Luxembourgish and French, Marianne studied at the Luxembourg National Academy of Dramatic Arts, Cours Florent in Paris and then at the universität of Cambridge before moving to Los Angeles. She recently debuted on the big screen in “Wizardream,” starring Malcolm McDowell, and also appeared in the Japanese film, “Gun Woman.”

Marianne recently took time to answer a few Fragen about her latest projects.

Holly: Can Du tell us about your role in “Neighbors”?

MARIANNE: Sure. I play a sorority girl who supports the main characters, Zac Efron and Dave Franco, in their battle against Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne’s family. In one of the scenes in the movie Du can see me buy a very particular item from the frat boys. I can’t mention what the object is exactly, because that would ruin one of the biggest and funniest reveals in the movie.

Holly: Was the set as funny behind the scenes as the film was for audiences?

MARIANNE: Being on the set of Neighbors was Unglaublich and amazing. The crew and cast were all wonderful, and it really felt like a big family. The movie is extremely funny, but I would say that being on set was even Mehr fun, because we got to experience all those scenes in real life. On some days we had at least a hundred actors on set when we were shooting the big party scenes, and we basically all partied all night. We all had lots of fun.

Holly: Did Du take away any tips from working with these comedy veterans?

MARIANNE: Absolutely. I mostly learned that, especially in comedies, Du have to be very open to improvisation and new ideas. Du just have to let your imagination run wild and whatever comes to mind, just try it out. Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Dave Franco would never do a scene the same way twice. In each take they would bring different twists to their performance, so it would always be fresh and exciting, for them and for the audience.

Holly: What can Du share with us about your role in “Helicopter Mom”?

MARIANNE: In Helicopter Mom I start out Von playing Brad’s girlfriend. Brad is the coolest guy in highschool and the hero’s nemesis. At the beginning, even though I don’t support Brad’s belittling behavior towards Lloyd Cooper, I find him amusing and entertaining. However, as the movie goes on, I realize what a jerk Brad really is and we end up breaking up.

Holly: Du seem to be popping up in comedy films lately…do Du prefer comedy oder drama?

MARIANNE: Du know, it’s funny, because most of my work has been in drama. But I also believe that as an actor Du should be able to take on any role, oder at least challenge yourself to do so. I know that’s why I became an actor; I wanted to have fun playing many different characters in many different life situations, sometimes dramatic and sometimes comedic, because that’s how life is. I would say that I consider myself Mehr a dramatic actor, but comedies are so much fun I couldn’t do without, so ideally I would Liebe to keep doing both.

Holly: Anything else you’re working on?

MARIANNE: I am currently doing a play at the Fringe Festival, called “Picasso's Women: The Darker Side of Genius.”

It is the story of Picasso's ex-lovers, who decide to come together and put aside their differences in order to write a book about him and reveal to the world what a monster he really was in his personal life, thereby demonstrating that there is always a ‘darker side of genius’.

We perform at the Ruby Theater (6476 Santa Monica Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90038) on the following dates:
June 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd
Du can get tickets at: link

We are also in pre-production for a psychological thriller. The story is about two young people who see their will and morals tested Von a mysterious man who offers them endless possibilities in exchange for their integrity.

We start shooting in August and we are confident that the movie will be very successful at film festivals, because it is quite dark, but has a lot of action and mystery in it, which will make it very entertaining for audiences to watch.
