This is definitely one of the best Filme I've ever seen. If you're not a Fan of old movies, IT DOESN'T MATTER! The Schauspielen of Ian McKellan, Who plays the villainous Chauvelin, and Anthony Andrews, who plays the foppish Sir Percival Blakeney, is outstanding, and Jane Seymour has Mehr than enough beauty to recommend her for the role of Marguerite St. Just, the beautiful French actress. The movie is set during the Reign of Terror, when the French Aristocracy are having their heads chopped off Von Robespierre's Republic. A mysterious man called the Scarlet Pimpernel snatches the people from the jaws of the Guillotine, while posing as the foppish fool Sir Percival Blakeney. When however, the King and Queen are beheaded, and the Dauphin, the heir to the thron is kidnapped, The Scarlet Pimpernel will have to sacrifice everything to save France from the iron fist of Robespierre.
