I love John Williams' compositions so much and I have a sont spot for all string music, but since The Killers were featured in New Moon, I'm obligated to choose this.

The HP soundtrack was AMAZING! Dumbledore's Death one was my most favorite. <#

I've got all of Paramore's albums, but I've started to like them less and less because of one of Hayley's twitter posts that she posted on the day of 7/11.

Plus, Hedwig's theme is magical! I would love to play it on bassoon.

I quite like some of the songs from the Twilight movies, but absolutely hate how they were put into the movie. Whoever organised the soundtrack for New Moon should be fired, in my opinion.
The Harry Potter symphonies are absolutely beautiful, but they aren't really my thing, unfortunately.

It is ridiculous to assume that just because modern culture happens to like rock, then it must imply that this fanclub swings this way.
I personally think that Hedwig's theme is original and awesome. Period. I also happen to like my Beethoven and Haydn. The statement should be: "Most of you maybe would pick rock."

^I agree with you disagreeing with youknowit101. I love Hedwig's theme. There's not one person in the world who would listen to that song and not think of Harry Potter automatically. It defines the whole movie series.

Is the 'maybe' not implied, given that he's talking about making a choice between two options?

I also completley disagree with youknowit101. Just because most of us probably prefer rock to classical in general, it doesn't mean we have to like every single song/soundtrack that is related to rock.

That's like saying we have to prefer Tinkerbell over Wendy because Tinkerbell is a fairy and most people prefer fairies. Or saying we have to prefer dogs over whales because dogs are the main household pet. That's like saying we have to pick the Disney film over the Dreamworks film because Disney is more critically acclaimed. Sorry but that was the most stupidest thing I've ever read.

I agree that it was not an inherently offensive comment but the blatant condenscending assumption would offend many I think. Also, "most of you would pick rock" is an assumption, "most of you would maybe pick rock" is a hypothesis in my eyes.

It was a hypothesis. I didn't provide you my reasoning process because it's not worth the effort

While it's true that, when listening to music for pleasure, I enjoy Rock more so than instrumental, when it comes to movies I prefer them to have instrumental music. Very rarely do I enjoy the soundtrack to a movie when the movie has actual songs (excluding musicals).

In this case, while there were several songs on the Twilight soundtrack I like, I didn't like it over all.

While I do like some of the Twilight tracks (Paramore and linkin park) the HP ones are just spellbinding, they have this magical mysterious touch that I enjoy very much.

Well, I prefer Paramore & Linkin Park but the music from HP fits great and the music from Twilight - not so much :)

I really like Linkin Park, but their music doesnt fit Twilight AT ALL

the songs in twilight were mostly copied songs
songs that the film didnt make

the songs in harry potter were invented
the music director had to make up the songs that fit the character like umbrideges theme which was pompus sounding and fake which fits her character

Anyone can put together a variety of songs and call it a soundtrack. It takes a true artist to make original songs for a movie.

Most of the somgs were written for the movie specifically.

It wasn't like someone got a bunch of cds and said "Hmm.. I want this one, this one, and this one."

And, just an FYI, Twilight DOES have an original score as well as a separate soundtrack.

I like the Twilight one, BUT the New Moon pwned!

All the old, Indie type, slow songs were amazing, I love them and the fact that the soundtrack fit perfectly into the movie.

The Harry Potter soundtrack is UNIQUE!

I don't really like alternative rock anymore, so this was easy. :P

I wish there was more Ye on the Twilight soundtracks though...
