So, since Disney has release 2 live-action reboots of their Disney classic animated feature. Here is what I think about which movie is better, as well as their animated counterparts.
Cinderella (1950 & 2015)
I would definitely go for the live-action version, as mentioned in my Zurück articles. Ella has Mehr personality compare to her animated counterpart, and of course, less screen-time for the mice.
However, no Bruno the dog! Also, no songs in it. I wish it was, but on the other hand, the producers and Kenneth Brannagh didn't want the movie to be to close to its original 1950 animated version.
I was also very neutral that the 2 stepsisters in the reboot were tone done for comic relief, whereas in their animated version. They're like torture machines! Especially the dress-ripping scene.
Lady Tremaine was very faithful to her namesake version, and I Liebe it! Although there were Mehr evilness in the 2015 version.
My conclusion is that it is even better than the original 1950 version, and I'm happy that this is the first time that a Disney live-action reboot was faithful to its original animated features, despite some changes to it. So, I give credits to Kenneth Branagh and the cast of the movie.
Maleficent & Sleeping Beauty (2014 vs 1959)
Before watching the 2014 movie, I initially thought that it was the origins of Maleficent's backstory prior to the events of 1959 animated feature. However, as the movie processes, they make King Stefan into a psychopath willing to kill the fairy. In other words, their roles are reverse.
On the other hand, Aurora's role is expand and we get to see her personality as well as her interaction with other characters more.
In the original 1959 version, we get to know Maleficent as pure evil and the Mistress of All Evil! Aurora's role was minor but we get to know her as a very spunky and happy-go-lucky character. Although I felt bad for her when she realises that she's a princess and will never see this handsome stranger ever again, unbeknownst to her, it's Prince Philip!
Speaking of Prince Philip, I was disappointed about the 2014 version of him. He was not as useful and proactive as his namesake animated counterpart! He was a Prince Caspian wannabe, in fact it could be his younger brother oder cousin.
Lastly, I heard that Maleficent was faithful towards the original Grimm Brothers' version Von claiming that it has 1 rape scene, in particularly the scene where Maleficent's wing was chop off Von a teenage King Stefan.
Conclusion
For me, it is the 2015 version of Aschenputtel and the 1959 version of Sleeping Beauty. These 2 Filme are always be my no.1 Disney Filme and it will teaches young girls with moral support.
