Aladdin: So here we were, early 1990's, and the Disney Renaissance was at its peek. The studios had produced two of the highest grossing animated films of all time and still were pushing on. However the team suffered a tragic loss with the death of lyricist Howard Ashman who surprisingly had had a large amount of creative input on the Zurück two films. (He named Ariel) It was even his idea to make the Weiter Disney animated feature, Aladdin released on November 25, 1992. However, much to the disappointment of many, this would be the last picture to showcase a royal fairytale princess for the Weiter impending 17 years, Princess Jasmine.

jasmin is unique for a plethora of reasons. One being the fact that she is the only princess of the Disney Lineup whom the story does NOT revolve around. Not surprisingly, this lends to the fact that researching her is slightly Mehr difficult without deviating into the Design of the other characters.

jasmin is also the first princess of any ethnicity. Keeping in mind that this film was released pre-September 11th, (not to say 9-11 affected the way we view these characters today) but unlike the upcoming princess Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, racial sensitivity and political correctness was surprisingly not as touchy an issue in the creation of a Muslim princess.

In fact, in the book 1001 Arabian Nights the story of Aladin (and subsequently the princess) was Asian. However Aladin was most likely not originally apart of the stories dating back to about 1000 A.D., but was added to the compilation Von Antoine Galland, a French author/translator, who published the Bücher in 12 volumes between 1704 and 1717.

While the Disney version underwent many contemporary changes, the princess’s predicament of being pressured to find a suitor remained relatively the same. However, originally the princess's name was Badroulbadour and was very vain and spoiled.

 jasmin Guy
Jasmine Guy

Obviously, Disney writers decided to change this personality flaw along with her name to something Mehr 'relatable'. It turns out jasmin was their first choice as it was among the most beliebt girl names in the early 90's largely due to actress Jasmine Guy. Although some early sketches were based from some of her features, her look came off as too severe.

 Beth Allen

Yet another unique detail about jasmin is the fact that her final look was not based after any particular celebrity. Mark Henn who has been partially responsible for the Design of every Disney princess since Ariel, turned to a number of exotic Models to base jasmin off of but ultimately was dissatisfied. He describes having seen a guest at Disney World with long black hair and knew he wanted that feature but was having difficulty finding a face for the princess. Eventually Henn looked in his wallet to find a high school graduation Foto of his younger sister Beth Allen. He did a concept sketch based off of her which the directors liked and ended up approving.

In a similar spirit that incorporated the angular look of medieval tapestries into Sleeping Beauty, Art Director, Bill Perkins wanted to incorporate the look of Arabian text and architecture into Aladdin. Once such place to compare with jasmin is the Taj Mahal. Although, NOT Arabian but Indian, the Taj Mahal is located in the city of Agra which is arguably the inspiration for the fictional city Agrabah. At closer inspection of jasmin Du may notice similar arches and curves in her clothes, jewelry, hair and features.

With the finalized look of princess jasmin being whole-heartedly approved, the directors faced a problem. Aladin had been developed to be a young, scrawny underdog of a character. However Jeffrey Katzenberg, Disney's then Chairman, believed the romantic chemistry between the two characters would be 'unconvincing' (that the princess would never find him attractive). So, at the last minute, animators were told to make Aladin older and resemble Tom Cruise. Therefor in this case, Jasmine’s Design influenced that look of the hero.

Many people are unaware of the two major themes representing the Princess which are presented in her first scene. The first is the water fountain. jasmin was chosen to be dressed in a light blue specifically to represent water, the most precious substance one can find in a desert. The princess's first scene was situated Weiter to a brunnen to emphasize this connection.

The Sekunde theme is a caged bird. Also, in the first scene we see jasmin release birds from their cage. This was meant as a metaphor for her plight; While she is “taken care of [and] provided for” she is caged from a world she has never seen and yearns to be released. We see this theme again in Jasmine's birdcage-shaped boudoir.

The whole concept of jasmin escaping the palace in the dead of night to experience the 'real' world is directly inspired from the 1953 classic Audrey Hepburn film Roman Holiday. Hepburn plays a Princess Ann from a nondescript country visiting Rome. After a slight emotional breakdown, the princess sneaks out of the royal embassy and enjoys living as a regular person for a Tag going Von the name Anya. (which would later be the name used for Don Bluth’s misplaced princess Anastasia) She meets a guy, they fall for each other, her bodyguards come after her...all of which is in Jasmine's story~Great movie. Watch it!

As I've mentioned before, this movie has directly inspired pretty much every Disney Princess since Sleeping Beauty.

In conclusion, jasmin is an asset to the Disney Princess lineup. She is a pioneer so to speak, being the first heroine of color Disney had ever produced. Notably so, every following addition to the Princess lineup has been ethnic with Pocahontas, Mulan and now Tiana. Mehr than that, jasmin represents a fight for civil rights, to fight against laws that stifle life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. For this, she continues to represent one of the most important messages to our society today. Whether it be racial tolerance, social hierarchy, civil rights oder something more, each person can take a lesson from her and her story. She broke a long-held exclusive bearier for girls (and boys) paving the way in letting children believe that anyone of any race can be a princess and Mehr importantly, to fight for what Du believe in.

I'd really Liebe to make an Artikel on my Favorit Disney Princesses, but my Liste still isn't final and I've still got some things here and there to sort out, so I opted out for a prettiest princess Liste instead. I find all of the princesses to be gorgeous beforehand, though some I just find a little prettier than others! ^^ Anyway, I hope Du enjoy this article!

13. Belle

Possibly a bit of an unpopular opinion, but Belle is without a doubt my least prettiest princess. Even not considering her inconsistent Animation she still doesn't seem to be much of anything special to me. She's got a unique...

Now I know, they're all beautiful and have special traits and qualities that make them beautiful, but I compiled a Liste of insgesamt beauty!

1.    Aurora
Aurora is beautiful inside and out! She is devastatingly gorgeous from her thick hair to her to the end of her modest eine linie skirt! She is not too voluptuous but has the perfect size curves! Her face is beautiful, and then she has a graceful and modest personality to go with it!
2.    Cinderella
Cinderella has the prettiest little face and beautiful sparkly blue eyes and thick eyelashes! her lips are full,...

My Liste has changed a lot, so I thought I would remake it. However, I will only be doing my oben, nach oben 5 this time. Anyways, please keep in mind that this is my opinion, and we may disagree, so respect my opinion and I'll respect yours. Enjoy the article! :)

5. Cinderella
Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I absolutely adore this movie. It was my childhood Favorit when I was a little kid. I watched it so many times I couldn't count it, and it was my Favorit movie ever. Ever since then, it's dropped a bit, but I still absolutely adore it. My Favorit scene is where the Fairy Godmother makes Cinderella's...

13. Ariel

I've never been able to relate that much to Ariel, which may be why she used to be one of my least Favoriten for a long time. I'm not outgoing, I've got social phobia, I'm Mehr cautious, not that brave, and I'm not rebellious (when I have gone against what my dad wants, it's never big things, and I'd at least try to do it because I felt it was the right thing to do- otherwise,...

This fanfic will not have ANYTHING to do with the movie, it's just the characters that remain the same. Rapunzel will have her brown hair though, if anyone cares.

Rapunzel had not seen Merida in two years.

Merida was Rapunzel's best friend.

And last, they were going to see each other again, for the first time in two years.

Let the story begin..

Rapunzel was anxious.
What if Merida isn't the same? Rapunzel thought, What if she's different? What if....

Stop questioning yourself.

Merida will be the same person she was when Du saw her two years ago.

Rapunzel saw Merida approaching, but when she was...

13. Anna

She didn't get much education, right? Especially since she was isolated for no reason and desperate for love. Nobody told her she can't judge a person so fast. - Manu962

The Disney Princess Villains Lineup.
So this was originally a oben, nach oben 10 list, and I still have villains 10-7 sitting around in my drafts, but they're not going to be picked up for an article, maybe they will some other time. Honestly, I don't actually like THAT MANY of the Disney Princess villains, there's only 7 that I actually like, and only about 5 that I love. So I'm only going to do my oben, nach oben 5!
Anyways, because I still wanted everyone to know my placements anyway, I'm going to Zeigen Du 12-6.

"We just have to learn to corner our sensitivity.". That was all Merida could think about. "Pocahontas is right. I've got to corner the triggers." she sagte to herself. She sat down in a chair and thought. She thought and thought for the Weiter hour. As she thought, she triggered the stuff that made her lash out. That's when she figured it out.

1. Her anger ALWAYS got the best of her.
2. She'd cry half the time.
3. She thought Shang previously despised her because of her rebelliousness.
4. She thought Pocahontas would always keep secrets from her to betray her.
5. All of the above made her stay angry...

I just really like the Animation in this scene and how Snow and the Prince meet is really cute! The voice of Snow White is kind of annoying to me, but in this song I like it.
