This review was originally gepostet months Vor but I deleted it because......I was gonna use it for a school assignment and I didn't wanna leave this up so my lecturer could Suchen and accuse me of plagiarism. lmao

Anyway, I ended up not using it and I decided to put it back up.

So right off the bat, I have to say that this movie is very.....average. It honestly feels like a tv episode padded out with songs to make it feature length. Moana is a likable enough character, I can almost pinpoint exact moments where she's like Zurück Disney female protagonists like Ariel, Pocahontas, Mulan and Rapunzel but maybe that's just me being a seasoned Disney fan.

I do like the fact that the story has no allusion to marriage and romance at all instead of being dismissive oder condescending towards those concepts. The songs are okay, I probably just need to listen to them a few Mehr times to really get the hang of them. One thing I will say is that the transitions into the songs are rather forced and awkward in my opinion.

I understand that some people Liebe the authentic pacific island culture, and if that stuff is important to any of Du out there, great but honestly, I don't really care and I don't think most people do either, including the average Polynesian person. Striving for authenticity and accuracy is appreciated but when making a movie, unless it's a documentary, telling an interesting oder entertaining story should come first in my opinion, and I don't think Moana really did that.

Sidenote: I know the elefant in the room is the racial aspect. No one cares when a depiction of European oder white culture is inauthentic oder inaccurate but we won't get too deep into that today.

Let me compare Moana to other Disney Filme for a second. Take Aladdin, a movie with quite a few twists and turns but still easy to follow, and even though Aladin is the star, Du get quite a few different perspectives. Aladin has the main plot, jasmin has a subplot, Jafar has a subplot, even Genie to an extent has a subplot, and at some point oder another, the film is being told from their point of view.

Because Moana doesn't really have a clear cut fully developed antagonist, it already has one less setting, one less subplot and one less perspective than the average Disney movie. The reason why villains can be important in my opinion is that it can give the writers an opportunity to really explore the world the movie takes place in. Villains and side characters can have a whole different backdrop centered around them.

And even then, this movie doesn't really use the few side characters it does have. For example, in The Little Mermaid (1989) while Ariel's on land trying to win Eric over, we cut to a scene where King Triton is racked with guilt over upsetting his daughter. Maybe we could have had a scene where we cut back to the island, maybe we'd see how much worse the situation had become while Moana was away oder see how much this situation is really affecting her father? I feel like that would have fleshed out the movie more.

Moana just feels very “one track”, it's like tunnel vision. It's just two characters (Moana and Maui) on a trip together, and even worse, they're not in the most entertaining setting either, the middle of the ocean. With other Disney movies, Du felt like Du were getting a full scope of the world because we were following a lot of characters and their respective conflicts.

Here are some examples
Snow White (1937)-Snow White, The Queen, Seven dwarfs (especially Grumpy)

Aschenputtel (1950)-Cinderella, Lady Tremaine, The King (Prince's father), the Duke

Sleeping Beauty (1959)-All three fairies, Aurora, Maleficent, Phillip, the Kings

The Little Mermaid (1989)-Ariel, Triton, Ursula, Eric, Sebastian

Beauty and the Beast (1991)-Belle, Beast, Gaston, the Castle's staff (Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts)

Aladin (1992)-Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar, Genie

Pocahontas (1995)-Pocahontas, John Smith, Ratcliffe, prominent characters among both the tribe and the settlers

Mulan (1998)-Mulan, Mushu, Shang, Shan Yu

Princess and The Frog (2009)-Tiana, Naveen, Dr. Facilier, Lottie, Lawrence and even some of the sidekicks

Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt (2010)-Rapunzel, Gothel, Flynn, Maximus

A movie like Merida - Legende der Highlands (2012) is pretty much just about Merida and Elinor, but at least while they had their conflict going on, Du could cut to King Fergus and the other men in one scene and Merida’s brothers in another. And even if most of the movie is just following around one group of people (like most of Mulan and Tangled) Du had multiple characters with a bunch of different dynamics. That's a reason why sidekicks are important too, it would get boring with 80% of the movie just following two characters.

Granted, there IS such a thing as too many characters/perspectives (Princess and The Frog kind of crosses into that territory) but still give us something. I thought other members of the tribe were gonna go with Moana on her journey oder at least the pig. It's just two characters, Moana and Maui, and a chicken, who can't even communicate non-verbally like most animal sidekicks, on an adventure. And the characters they meet along the way just Zeigen up oder reappear to Bewegen the story along, and except for her grandmother's spirit and the crab, even THEY don't really talk.

A lot of elements in this film just felt like the writers were ticking boxes off a Disney checklist and relying on the scenery/animation and the music, which aren't really all that groundbreaking to begin with in my opinion. The scale of this movie just feels very....small and it doesn't feel as whole as the other Disney films

I dedicate this poem to all of you, who like myself, still believe. I Liebe Du all!

We’ve been fascinated with them since we were little girls.
Back when we wore our hair in ribbons and curls.
We longed to go to a fancy ball and wear a pretty dress.
Now our lives are full of worry and stress.
All we wanted was to be like the Princess in our Favorit story,
A place filled with nothing but glory.
A place where true loves KISS can break the most evil of spells.
A land of happily ever afters and wedding bells.
Where the glass slipper always fits,
And a handsome Prince who finds it easy to commit.
It’s...

Sleeping Beauty was released on January 29, 1959 and was made due to the overwhelming success of Cinderella. Therefor the Disney Studios got right to work revisiting the fairy tale formula and developing a new version of the classic story. It was decided early on that this film would have to surpass its predecessing fairy tale films.

Snow White

■In The Muppets at Walt Disney World, Snow White was the Disney character who had the biggest part in the story, besides Mickey Mouse.

■In 1988, Snow White was awarded a star, sterne on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

■Snow White is the first Disney Princess, being the main character of Disney's...

Another fun idea that came to mind, we take two princesses see just how much they have in common. I wanted Pocahontas and Rapunzel first because Punz is a pretty good balance of qualities found in the classic, renaissance and revival princesses so it's easy to do this with her. Plus, it's a very common misconception that Poca is just this peaceful spiritual wise soul, and that's only half of her personality. What better way to debunk that than to compare her to the one of the bubbliest princesses

At first glance because Pocahontas looks mature and Rapunzel looks youthful, some would assume...

I was in a mood to do a ranking list, so I thought I should make a Liste of my oben, nach oben 10 scenes from DP movies. So, here we go.

10. Aschenputtel - waking up
Have Du ever seen anyone waking up so gorgeous. Her elegance is to die for. She's looking adorable and elegant all at once, with her piggytails. I Liebe how she flips over and puts kissen overhead, not wanting to wake up from the dream. And isn't she cute, not telling the dream to the birdie friends. I like how she was so much in the moment, holding a pillow. And then, old killjoy strikes, haha! I Liebe how she gave us a peak into her other side,...

So I really, really, really Liebe the Disney Princess dance sequences, particularly with the waltz, as I find it to be so sweepingly romantic! The Animation of the dance, the way the dress twirls with the women, the romantic and powerful score in the background, the gorgeous scenery in the background and the usually gorgeous dress worn Von the princess... I Liebe everything about these sequences! That's not to mention the Zeigen of romantic Liebe developing. I am very much an old soul so I really Liebe the process of "courting" which often included the man taking the woman out to dance oder dancing...

So, I made a long rant on Mulan in a poll, so I figured I would add Mehr into it, and turn it into an article.

I don't think she's amazing as people make her out to be. Brave, smart, a great personality. I don't see all of that in her. She's pretty brave, but I think there are braver characters out there than just her. She's smart, but I don't think she's THAT smart, quick-thinking and smart are different. I don't find her personality appealing. She's pretty lazy and gave up too easily at the beginning of the movie. She only works hard when she's forced. Then Von the end of the movie, she's completely...

First of all ignorant Ariel haters are advised not to read this because I am being brutally honest and not holding back. For those who say I'm being harsh they Zeigen no respect for Ariel's Fans and treat her like she's some kind of heartless monster so I don't owe them one bit of respect and will not Zeigen them any because they don't deserve it. Also I will not be doing the cliche of comparing Ariel to Merida, I've already done that in my Ariel vs Merida article. Besides, people do that enough already and I can't stand this war between them, it's really annoying. However I will be comparing her...
