I wish she was like this in the film!!!!
I wish she was like this in the film!!!!
Hi guys, while I had written about both versions of Disney's Cinderella. I thought that I write about both Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent, unlike Cinderella, both stories are based on different perspectives from 2 different characters. I thought that this Artikel would be somewhat a bit different. Also, in this Artikel I'll also be telling what I like & dislike about both Filme like what I did with Cinderella. If Du guys disagree, I don't mind at all.

The Prologue

Okay, I felt that the prologue itself was actually base on Maleficent's childhood and it was when I started thinking "since when did Maleficent has wings?". I also thought that it was a backstory of how she became a vengeful person!
However, in the original 1959 version, she doesn't have wings during her introduction and she just appear in front of the family and their subjects during Aurora's baptism. I always thought she has magical powers since her childhood days. (1959 version)

Maleficent's Personality & Appearance

One of the things I was very disappointed about was that, after she put the curse on Princess Aurora. The filmmakers sorta like tone down her character very much like what they did with Elsa in Disney's Frozen! However, unlike Elsa. Maleficent was a villain from the very start.
As I mentioned in the prologue, I always thought that she was retaliating against King Stefan Von putting the curse on his daughter.
Speaking of appearance, why is Maleficent all white? When in the original, she's all green and has yellow eyes. Her speaking voice doesn't capture the same quality as Eleanor Audley with that British accent she voiced the evil fairy. (1959 version)

King Stefan

Another major disappointed moment for me, was that they turn him from a good guy into another Hans wannabe. oder I shall I say that, it IS Hans Schauspielen as King Stefan! He was a good ally of Maleficent until he became a baddie! oder worse, a psychopath as time goes by. He doesn't even care about his wife dying from an unspecified illness, he just let her suffered and died.
In the original 1959, he was just a minor character who cares about his wife & daughter. He was also pretty harmless and would never kill Maleficent personally! (1959 version)

Princess Aurora

I was very happy that she gets Mehr screen-time than her animated counterpart, her personality is Mehr bouncy and cheerful like her namesake animated counterpart. (tied)

The 3 Fairies

They are the worse batch EVER!!!! They suddenly become way to goofy and comical fuse into one. They are NOT as wiseful as they are portray in the original 1959 version.
Secondly, what's up with their new names? Is it because the filmmakers wanted us to get confuse with their new names oder something??? I seriously don't believe it. (1959 version)

Conclusion

Unlike Cinderella, the winner of this Artikel goes to the original 1959 version. Although I do give Elle Fanning Mehr credit for her portrayal of Aurora, Maleficent is considered my least favourite Disney live-action reboot ever!
Wow! He does look like Hans!!!

I'm sure we all know how old most of the Disney Princesses are since we get to know it from their movies, but some of them has a different age in their original and some aren't even mentioned, but this is mainly what other have said, but it's also my guessings on some of them. Anyways enjoy!

Snow White:
There has been many discussions on how old she is in the Disney movie since it's never mentioned, but if Du didn't knew it already she's 14 in the Disney version. In the original fairytale she's only 7 years old as most of us know, but did Du knew that in most of the newer versions of the classic...

Alright, this is going to contain critical and possibly controversial opinions about Frozen and Tangled, as well as other things, so if Du can't stand to hear these Filme badmouthed I'd suggest that Du skip this article. Now that you've been suitably warned, on with the article!

MARKETING

The first that Du see of new Disney characters is almost always through promotional rendered images, so that's where we are going to start in this dissection of Disney's character design.

To begin, let's look at some of the earlier promotional art of Elsa and Anna:...

Recently, I saw a Umfrage on this club about which House Rapunzel would be in at Hogwarts, which got me thinking about that Frage in relation to all the princesses. I’m an avid Harry Potter fan, so I figured I would lend my unique insights on the matter to all of Du lovely people.

But before I begin my analyses, it’s time for some disclaimers!

1. About the Houses. Here’s how I tend to think of the Houses of Hogwarts. (Note: I will be saying the most about Slytherin, since Slytherin is most often distorted.)

Gryffindor: values bravery, daring, bold decision-making, rule-breaking, following...
