[i]- The Filme are definitely better than the ones from that Chicken-Little era. And they are making money in the theaters after a long period of box-office failure, just like with the Renaissance.

- I guess so. Revival is a good term for it I think.

- I personally believe it started after Bolt because every film that just came out has been amazing. They all have the Disney Feeling oder the Walt Disney Feel to it. The Princess and the Frog was amazing but lame reasons didn't make a lot of money. Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt really pulled it through and was also great. Wreak it Ralph and Frozen were also great. But sadly I feel like people are making this era based off of the money and not about how great the film.

- Revival Era! It started from PATF and still continuing! Du know like Oscar nominations, box office hits, musical, classic, and famous! Yipee! Disney really is stepping it up!

- We are in a CGI renaissance

- Definitely. Personally, I Liebe PatF. Amazing characters, beautiful animation, and what not, but I still don't think it started the renaissance. It's nice, but it didn't seem groundbreaking. Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt on the other hand completely changed the company. It made Mehr money than any Disney movie before (except TLK), was well received Von critics, and really changed the name brand of Disney. Tangled, Wreck-It-Ralph, and Frozen are definitely the Renaissance/Revival era for Disney. Winnie the Pooh is just kind of...there..I guess it's included, since it's in the middle, but it doesn't really qualify.

- I think we're in a Sekunde Renaissance. For me, I think the characters are better developed. I haven't seen Wreck-it Ralph, but the one I have seen, I like the relationships between the characters. Where did the this SR start, probably with Tangled.

- We're definitely in a Renaissance... but I don't like that it's in CGI. =/

I think Princess and the Frog started the Renaissance though. Did it do phenomenally at the box office? No, but it started the momentum of quality that got the ball rolling for later films.

Disney also learned from their marketing mistakes with PatF that made Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt the success it became. They marketed PatF as a timeless classic, so people only noticed the flaws; a Disney Princess film, so boys and men ran for the hills, and a sincere fairy tale that post-Shrek audiences still weren't ready for. And it's hand-drawn. =/

As a result, Disney *completely* retooled the marketing for Rapunzel that got butts in seats: they gave it a gender-neutral Titel and made the ads focus on Flynn so as not to scare the boys away, and marketed it as a snarky, action-packed DreamWorks-esque adventure film so post-Shrek audiences would be interested. And it's CGI. >_<

I'm willing to bet money that if PatF had not come out first, Disney would not have marketed "Tangled" as they did, it would not have been the run-away success it became, and we would not have a CGI Renaissance as it is.[/1]

Opinions and theories surround this speculation, so let's analyze and look into it.Hello Fanpoppers. I decided to make this Artikel for a few reasons. One is because this theory has been around for 5 years now and to see how much in detail this theory became in those 5 years. Second, it is a way to compare the modern films to the Renaissance and what makes them different, and thirdly, I was bored and wanted something to do.

This theory has been around since shortly after Bolt's release, and there are Links in early 2009 that were whispering these rumors around. Some believe PatF started it, Tangled, Wreck-it Ralph, Frozen, but most believe that we are in a better place than 6-14 years ago. From what I have researched, it is because of the formation of...
The acquisition of Disney and Pixar, with Lasseter looking over both companies.
The acquisition of Disney and Pixar, with Lasseter looking over both companies.

This took place in early 2006 (can't believe it has been about 8 years). Pixar has well established that they are THE company with their deep, complex, and seemingly realistic but imaginative movies, and Lasseter's rep was built up on too. Pixar's contract had Abgelaufen and because they worked so well together, Disney bought out Pixar and promoted Lasseter to Chief Creative Officer, Catmull to President and a bunch of others from Pixar. A lot of people were worried that Pixar was gonna lose quality (which they ended up doing) and excited that WDAS was gonna gain quality (which it did). The first project to have a huge amount of production and control from this acquisition and Lasseter is...
Isn't it weird that Cyrus went from this to joining twerk teams in 5 years?
Isn't it weird that Cyrus went from this to joining twerk teams in 5 years?

Yes, Bolt. Sure Meet the Robinsons had about 60% of the movie had been scrapped and redone, but this happened at the end of production, a few months before the film was released. Lasseter took control of Bolt closer to the beginning of production. This film was the first to be nominated for Best Picture in the Academy Awards since Brother bär (but that was 3 films before, so.....yeah). It is the first to have good critical reception since Lilo and Stitch but yet, people don't see it as a start and neither do I. The reasoning I and others think this is because they had to use a beliebt celebrity (Miley Cyrus) to sell the film, it did not make a huge amount (around the same as some of the Post Renaissance), and the film is overall....... forgettable. I still do not remember much of what happened in the film, and it did not have the Disney feel. It still was an experiment of them being Lost and trying anything but she they are good at (which was so prominent in this era) and Von trying to catch up to Pixar and DreamWorks. The Weiter film is......

The Princess and the Frog. This is the first film to start development after the acquisition happened. Lasetter wanted Disney to be back and the best way was to invite back John Musker and Ron Clements and to make a fairytale the best way they can. This movie is one of the two major start points to the fans, and it is very debatable. This film is the first DP film since 1998, and the first fairytale since 92. It was well liked, had many nominations, and here is where the theory of the Sekunde Reeaissance really went rampant, but......... it mad ea bit less than $300,000,000 in the box office and while that would have been pretty good in the 90's, it is considered a disappointment in today's standards.

The reason for this was seen as because the marketing was too much targeted to little girls, where boys avoided the film (though I watched it in theatres). It was marketed in the way the Disney Renaissance films were, but things changed between the years. Another reason why people do not see this as the starting point, but Mehr so the ending point of the Post Renaissance is because in a way, it is saying goodbye to the old, and in with the new. It is not really groundbreaking, but it IS promising something good and a change is coming. There is a certain change of feeling and how things are done in the films released after this.
Disney's first CGI Fairytale film, with Mehr modern talk and DreamWorks marketing.
Disney's first CGI Fairytale film, with Mehr modern talk and DreamWorks marketing.

Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt is the other film that is seen most commonly as the start of this era, and for good reason. One is that it is the first CGI film of the canon to be really profitable, got nominated fr a bunch of awards (like the two above), and this film had a huge change in marketing. As much as I Liebe PatF, I think Tangeld started this new age, THOUGH I don't think Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt would have been as successful without it. If ti was not for PatF, Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt would not have been marketed the way it was (Flynn being focused on, pop music, a WHOLE LOT of slapstick), but marketed as a Disney Renaissance film, and I think it might have Lost a minimum of $40 million if ti was not for the marketing. But it is the Sekunde highest grossing WDAS film outside of the The Lion King, and it is a HUGE success.

Du can always tell when a lot of people are considering a start of a new age because for example, if Du look at the reviews from the Disney Renaissance (the reviews done in the 90s), they all say that TLM started the era, and I have noticed in the reviews of Wreck-it Ralph and Frozen, they are stating that Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt started this new age. I guess it is groundbreaking ONLY for the reason that it is told as an actual fairytale in CGI instead of a satire like the Shrek and Hoodwinked series.

Also, Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt is a good film. It does have the modern dialogue (more so than others), the pop-ish songs, and the ridiculous slapstick humor, but it did start a formula, which is seen in the future films (less so in Wreck-it Ralph, but Mehr so in Frozen).

There is not really much to say about this film. Okay.... It is the final traditionally animated film and will most likely be the final one forever. This film did not really made money at the box office, but it did well critically. This is resembled to The Rescuers Down Under, since the film is for the most part forgotten since it barely made money.

Wreck-It Ralph was unexpected as to how good it is. It was the Weiter big film after Tangled, and it was already at a disadvantage as to how different it was from the usual Disney film; a lot of people thought it was a Pixar film. When people actually saw it, they sagte it was like the video game version of Toy Story. This film has a huge amount of detail to every single aspect of it, and this film proved that Disney can be successful at branching out of their usual. This might be the first film to get compared to Pixar for a good reason. The film was a big success both critically and in the box office, though it was not as big a success as Tangled.

I do think this is an important addition to the so called revival. Why? It is the FIRST film to win an Annie for Best Animated Film. Unlike the Zurück entries, this film actually won many awards. While it had it's success, most people take the Academy Awards the most seriously and this film Lost many awards to Brave. Merida - Legende der Highlands got worse critical reception than many other animated films in 2012, and it winning involved a bunch of dirty politics. The Academy Awards tend to choose films that are a bit Mehr "sophisticated, elegant, and fancy", and they look down on anything else, which is why Merida - Legende der Highlands won. This is the first film to be better quality than the Pixar film that year, and that is a HUGE accomplishment.

Frozen. This film has been through development hell so many times, put on and of the shelf. It was put on the shelves after Princess and the Frog's release, and put back on to become the film we know after Tangled's release. When the film was being promoted, it used the same marketing scheme that Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt did (except for that one trailer). There was a lot of slapstick, a lot of Kristoff, barely any Elsa, and the posters were gimmicky as well for the most part. There are a lot that was replicated from Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt into the movies, from the personalities of some of the characters, the modern talk and phrases even Mehr apparent than it was in Tangled, and it worked. It is being seen as the best film since Beauty and the Beast (though I don't know why), and it is critically praised.

It is most likely going to win the Best Animated Film category, and it is seen as the best film to the year. It has been out for a Monat and had already raised about $500,000,000 and had a good chance of outgrossing Tangled. This film focuses in the sister bond between two sisters instead of romance being the main focus.

[b]Conclusion[b]
My insgesamt conclusion is that I and a majority DO believe that we are in a new great era. There is no Eisner meddling into the projects to the lowest quality of entertainment and storytelling just because it "draws in Mehr money", no imitating from the other studios, and the films listed above actually have HEART. There is Mehr depth in character development than there are in the Renaissance films (YES I went there. Did Ariel, Belle and jasmin develop at any point in the movie? I thought so), the characters becoming Mehr realistic and the feminism increasing. All 5 films have helped with this era becoming a reality. Bolt was the first to be nominated a bunch of awards, PatF was the first film to be a fairytale in 17 years and reestablished the DP Franchise, Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt changes the lessons learned from PatF and made money, Wreck-It Ralph established that they are competition for Pixar again, and Frozen established that Disney is not stopping any time soon. The money is flowing faster, the awards and nominations coming in, the herz growing, and this is the new the company has been in since the millennium started.

What do Du think about the theory? Comment. Thanks for reading.

I'm always interested in Disney Princesses' wardrobes and thought that there is hardly any prominence gegeben to their jewelry department. Well, what's a princess without some jewels (and tiaras, which i'll be doing in another article). So I crafted this Artikel to imagine their signature jewels and a glimpse into their collection.

Snow White: Pearl
Pearls are linked with innocence and helps to see life through the eyes of compassion. It is also known for its purity. Snow White being the most innocent and fairest of all makes a perfect fit with pearls. Pearls are also often seen in the light of...
