Very much opposite actually. If we lose the war, we may as well lose our lives since we'll be under tyranny. I'll sooner die than live under tyranny.
If Al Gore had become president, America would not be America anymore. We'd lose all our cars, trucks, and whatever else you'd consider needs.

If the US loses the war in Iraq, they will live under tyranny? How comes that? Which tyranny, please? Iraq was never a threat to invade the US and create a tyrannical system there.

If you are talking about terror organizations...the point of them is that are non-state actors... they are not going to invade the US either.

If Al Gore had become president, they would not have started the war in Iraq. There would have been no war to lose.

As to the needs... you think Al Gore would have abolished cars etc.? I am sure that would not have been the case. It is completely unrealistic considering economy etc., which no president can ignore.

I've lived in a country with a government of a *Green* Party and they did not abolish cars.

Nobody is going to forbid cars. They need to get more environment-friendly though.

And as a last point... cars and trucks are not "needs" for everybody. I've never had one, and I am certainly living alright, which is of course partly because there is public transport available, which is something the US might consider relying on more in order to achieve the more environment-friendly part.

Not to mention that the US is already pretty much under the thumb of a Tyrant...

This is just hypothetical, but if the war is stopped now, the Prince of Persia could run in and take over Iran, Iraq, Israel, then sail up to the British Islands, then take a spin to the U.S.A. and if Al Gore were to have been President, I doubt he'd have the stones to do anything about it. He's not a strong-enough guy to try fighting a tyrant. Neither is HillaryCare Clinton, nor Obama, nor Kucinich.
Even if it wasn't the Prince/King of Persia, could be Ahmedenijad himself. Something about him scares me. He may be just an over-grown blowhard, but how do we know he's not planning something?
Hate George Bush all you want but he's had to do a serious job and he's had it the hardest of any President since Reagan. What Bush goes through in a week, we don't even see ½ of it in our days. Bush is no tyrant, no matter what you want to think of him. We've already seen our economic numbers rise to high levels since his turn as president. Granted the gas prices have gotten outrageous, but they were just as bad if not worese during Carter's time! Carter almost destroyed the economy in the 70's!
And there's not much that can be done with this Global Warming thing, as mythical as it is.
I won't deny that something is happening but what is happening has happened off & on for eons! Some wise-guy decided to give it a label, that's all. It's the people's favorite activity, labeling things! "Religion", "Global Warming" is a religion itself. If you try showing me charts, it won't do any good. I've seen them in school, too, and some of the updated charts available on the internet & quite frankly 50% just do not add up!
The other 50%, I can say "Show me something I don't already know."
50% of info out there on this bunko is made up right on the spot to stir up the hornets nest. It's getting so people do not know what to believe anymore. Even IF something is happening, I don't see it getting any worse in our lifetime. The only ones who's have to concern themselves with such a diabolical issue would be our great-great-great grandchildren, if anybody's around that long! Al Gore, forget him. Don't misunderstand, I don't hate the guy, just he's about as annoying as a pestersome fly in a kitchen! The only thing I can give him credit for is being concerned about the environment. But when he started this Global Warming Propoganda racket, that's what turned me off.

Now that Climate change and global Dimming are being attacked, it's time for me to say a little something in this debate.

MajorDork is falling right into the Bushie trap this admin has set... Playing up controversy to make Gore and other realists look ignorant. That's what doesn't add up. The proof is overwhelming. Plastic can not be broken down by anything in the environment yet, so how can that be good? Humans create machines that create waste this planet has not seen until 100 years ago, and it's getting worse every year. Nuclear waste and poisonous gases probably are a good thing for the environment, right? Or are these hazardous by-products not actually dangerous? Maybe we should be feeding them to our children, since they are great and don't do any damage.

Explain to those of us that see the signs and realize what is coming, what does not add up? I just don't understand it.
