This is your third Maxim shoot...and we have to say, they just keep getting sexier!
I'm older and Mehr comfortable with my femininity. The first time I was about 19 and was very nervous. I was Mehr of a tomboy, I guess. I've always had a great time shooting with Maxim. I feel like it gives me my freedom. It's an edgy magazine, so it's cool.
What makes a woman sexy?
Attitude and confidence.
So, a new single and a new album to follow...
I have officially just wrapped the album. I've been working on it for about two and a half years. I've lived a lot, gone through a lot, and put a lot into my songwriting. These songs are very meaningful to me.
A lot of your songs have been about boys. Is that still the case on this album?
This album is the first that is not boy-bashing. [laughs] Is it inspired Von my personal relationships? Yes. Inspired Von life experiences? Yes. Inspired Von experiences in situations with my family and friends? Yes.
What do Du think of the new stars who have emerged since your last record, like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Ke$ha?
It's an interesting period in Musik right now, very '80s and beat-driven. A lot of girls are really into their image and costumes and going over the top. I really like Ke$ha. Her songs are fun to party to, and her lyrics are hilarious.
There have been some notable meltdowns of former teen stars. How have Du managed to avoid those?
I got here on my own. I came from a small town and grew up in a regular home. I know what I've worked hard for. I've seen a lot of people who have gone a little crazy and who are really into the Hollywood scene. I don't really like to hang out with people like that.
Are Du able to play in private?
Well, there are a lot of paparazzi in L.A. The only time I really ever get photographed is if I decide to go out with my Friends to a bar oder club, so then it kind of looks like I do that Mehr than I do. The majority of time I stay in.
Do Du laugh oder get irritated when Du see stories about yourself in the tabloids?
Du can only laugh at it and roll your eyes because it's like, "Really?" They usually just pull that stuff out of their ass, but I think people know that.
Do Du even care what people think of Du anymore?
I care, but Du can't please everyone. I'm here to create my Musik and give it to the world.
Is there anything Du think people would be surprised to know about you?
Yeah-I'm really shy and quiet.
Du have some new Tattoos since out last shoot. Tell us about them.
[points to forearm] This is ABBEY DAWN-that's my nickname and clothing line. I have a lightning bolt, a Musik note, and a star. [pulls up oben, nach oben to Zeigen hip] Oh, I had a little star, sterne here last time, but now I have a big star. I have about 15 altogether, but they're all small.
Du also have a FUCK tattoo on one side of your rib cage.
I got that one two months ago...no, six.
What dating Guter Rat would Du give Maxim readers?
I like a classy man, a gentleman who opens the door and gives Blumen and always puts the lady first. I'm a little altmodisch like that.
