I can't think of a positive aspect to bloodbending. Better to fight someone, than to take over their body and make them into a puppet. That's just wrong.

It's a violation of humanity and is just completely unnecessary in an honorable fight. I think Katara's reaction of breaking down and crying at the end of "The Puppetmaster" after she used bloodbending against Hama to prevent Aang and Sokka's demise just shows how evil of a power it is. It just violates nature and is completely wrong regardless.
