What is that Anime called?

It used to come on Animax some 10 oder so years ago. It was about an orphaned young girl travelling with an old man in a caravan. They were some sort of gypsies. She also had a a dog oder two with her. It was set in Europe. I'm sorry I can't provide Mehr details, but this is all I can remember. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!
