He slipped in through the open window, looking around for nurses oder doctors. No one was in sight as he moved the girl's bedside. She was sleeping now, but he hadn't really told her he would come back before visiting hours in the morning. She had woken up, almost like she refused to be trapped in a coma. And he had talked with her all day, listening as she explained the things she gone through.
And he was suddenly thankful it wasn't as bad as he had imagined. He should have been terrified that she seemed unaffected Von this last kidnapping. But she had waited until Becca left till she broke into tears. She sobbed into his chest, telling him how much she had been scared and frightened. But that was this afternoon. As he sat Von her sleeping form, his mind went back to what happened yesterday after he'd found her.
The war outside was still raging. The two Liebhaber sat in each other's arms for a few Mehr minutes. But when a misfire caused the building to shake, they got up.
“Looks like we should go,” Alek suggested.
“I agree.”
They started running down the hall to the door. Suddenly, another misfire hit, closer to them. The walls and ceiling caved in. He stopped running and looked back, when she let out a sharp cry. Her leg was trapped under the rubble. He rushed over to try and dig her out. The other suddenly appeared.
“We have to get out of here,” Becca screamed as a tremor shook everything.
“Not without Tara!”
“What happened?”
“Her leg is trapped!”
They rushed over and started pulling at rocks. Another quake and rocks were sliding everywhere.
“You have to leave!” Tara shouted.
“I'm not going anywhere without you!”
“Becca please! Du guys need to get him out of here!”
She stood, indecisive, for a Sekunde before pulling him away.
“No!”
He tried struggling but Terror took over and grabbed him. Just as they made it out safely, the rest of the building collapsed.
“No! TARA!!!!”
Alek taube on the rocks, throwing them away. The other two came to help. When they found her, they stood still and watched him Bewegen the rocks off her body.
“Tara? Tara?!”
He checked her pulse, hoping for a breath, a groan, any indicator that she was still alive. But there were no such signs. Her body was covered in dirt, her eyes were closed, her face was paling, and blood trickled slowly from a head wound.
“It's no use, Alek. She's gone.”
“NO! She HAS to be alive! She can't be gone!!!”
Terror and Becca moved away, looking for any survivors. Alek held Tara's body close to his own, tears of pain and rage and despair coming to his eyes.
“It should have been me. It should have been me!!”
He screamed out with all the emotion he felt inside. She was gone. He'd Lost her again. And he couldn't get her back this time. He buried his head into her neck as the bitter tears rained from his eyes. Pulsating blue shot throughout her body with each tear, hitting each nerve, shocking her herz like lightning. Her hand twitched with life, but it was enough. He saw it and pulled away.
“Tara?”
She moaned in reply and her eyes opened. She smiled softly at him.
“Hi.”
He breathed out a small laugh, relief filling his entire soul.
“Hi.”
He held her close, even as she fell back unconscious. He kissed her hair, her temple, her cheek, her nose, and her lips.
“Oh Tara. Tara. Moya Princessa. I Liebe you. You're here. You're still here.”
He hugged her close and kissed her ear.
He sat on her bedside, looking at her with relief and love. He knew she was asleep but he kissed her on the lips. She stirred softly and he smiled as she rolled closer to him. His arms wrapped around her and his nose caught the scent of her hair. His eyes closed as his body relaxed. She shifted against him and he smiled. He held her tighter, hoping this time nothing would force her to be gone, to be away.
