Series then evoke "I can't believe it's not Yaoi/Yuri."

Well, not yaoi/yuri so much as BL & GL.

Say there is a series aimed at boys that has almost no female characters & all the men are very pretty & thare appears to be a lot of Ho-Yay.

Also series aimed at women with almost no men & a lot of Les-Yay.

*Blitz Tactics Nazica. (Panchira).
*Hunter x Hunter. (Shounen).
*Sailor Moon. (Shoujo).
*Prince of Tennis. (Sports).
*07: Ghost. (Shounen).
*Yami no Matsuei (not officially BL).
*Kyou Kara Maou (not officially BL)
*Hetalia (Seinen comedy).
*Saiyuki (Jousei).
*Gunsmith Cats.
*Iwatobi Swim Club (Sports).

I'm also fairly certain there was a ton of Les Yay in Gunsmith Cats, but I haven't seen it in ages.

Prime example:
Mangaka couple Yoshihiro Togashi & Naoko Takeuchi are both openly into LGBT stuff.

Sailor Moon examples are too obvious, since we all grew up with it.

Togashi has only done 1 ecchi manga; it was a gender bender. He shipteased Karasu & Kurma in his own doujinshi. He co-wrote the "Nightmare of Zoldyck" musical & the "Phantom Rogue" movie, which are on par with Black Butler II is gayness.
