Why won't Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight have kits?

Squirrelflight didn't tell Brambleclaw the truth about Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, and Lionblaze's parentage and Brambleclaw was angry she wasn't truthful.
Also, Erin Hunter revealed it was likely Squirrelflight was unable to have kits (probably a result of tortoiseshell males being infertile and her grandfather was a tortoiseshell male but he was fertile, so he might have passed it on to her).

Because eichhörnchen is most likely Infertile

Unfortunately Erin Hunter has already sagte that Squrrielflight is most likely unable to have kits however this can change meow.

Yellowfang lies to her that she can't have kits, so she has to claim Leafpool's kits as her own. Yellowfang kind of knew that was going to happen (i think), so she had to go through all the experience she been through to end up like the cat she is now.
