Chapter 2: The Enemy revealed! Friendship oder Heartbreak?
“I don’t care! I am not wearing this!”
Odessa pouted. This fool thought he could force her to wear men’s clothing of all things? That looked horrible! If he thought he was gonna get her into this, he was mistaken!
He groaned. “It’s all I have that’ll fit you.”
“I don’t care! It’s hideous!”
“I thought Du didn’t like me?”
She looked at him, confused and angry. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
He smiled. “Well normally women only fret about their opinion when they want to impress someone.”
She blushed red. “Shut up! Why on earth would I want to impress someone like you?!” She snatched the clothing out of his hand and stormed off. The man grinned. He knew his way around temper tantrums. She came back several Minuten later.
“I know what Du did…”
“I don’t know what Du mean.”
She snorted. “Ya…I’m sure Du don’t. So anyway, what do Du want?”
“What do Du mean?”
“You must want something if I’m staying here, what? Money? Sex? That’s what Du humans like, right?”
He smiled. “Sorry, none of those. Du put humans down alot.”
“Why shouldn’t I? you’re inferior.”
“Is that really the reason?”
“YES!…DON’T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT!” She glared at him. He smiled at her. “You sure are feisty. Come on, what is wrong?”
“Humph…not like you’ll understand, but my powers are gone. I’m as weak as…as weak as…”
“A human?” he offered.
She looked at him, her outburst from Arlon’s thron room flashing through her mind. She attempted a smile, but failed horribly. “No…not like humans. Du guys have your own strengths, I have nothing.”
“I seriously doubt that.”
A few hours later, the man, Miles Hannigan, yawned and sat down in his chair. The girl had left. She took some cash and sagte she was going shopping. He didn’t believe her. He suspected she was long gone Von now. That was probably for the best, though. Nothing good could come from living with a demon, but then again, as she sagte herself, she was no longer a demon. “Isn’t that right, Arlon?”
Lord Arlon revealed himself, a few feet away from Miles. “Yes, it is correct. She is no demon, she is nothing Mehr than a powerless abomination, below even humans.”
Miles smiled. “Come now, us humans aren’t that bad?”
Arlon chuckled. “Drop the act, Miles. She’s not here, Du don’t have to pretend.”
Miles smiled wider. “Very well.” A white glow enveloped Miles. When it faded, he had long white wings, beautiful sharp claws that came from delicate hands, a indescribable beauty emanating from his whole being. To say his form was human-like would be foolish, he could be no closer nor farther away from it. The Angel – Jäger der Finsternis smiled at Arlon, who had a revolted expression, but also showed signs of longing. “Come now, Arlon, Du should not dirty yourself with jealousy, but that’s all Du do, isn’t it?”
Arlon scoffed. “Jealous? Of a filthy Angel – Jäger der Finsternis like you? Not on my, nor your, life.” Miles merely smiled at Arlon’s bluster. He had no idea how someone as smart, as strong, as loyal as Arlon, could commit mutiny. Arlon continued to glare. “Where is she?”
“Who are Du referring to?”
“You know very well who! Odessa!”
“I have no idea. She rested for a bit then left. She’s probably long gone.” As he sagte it he knew it was false. Arlon wouldn’t Zeigen himself otherwise. “Unless Du have other information.”
A voice sounded from behind him. “I do.”
“Ah…hello Zaebos, Du leech.”
Zaebos grinned. “Come now, why the harsh words? Du really should act Mehr Angel – Jäger der Finsternis like.”
“An Angel – Jäger der Finsternis would not associate with filth.”
Zaebos’ already large grin widened. “Filth? I like to think the humans are the filthy ones. They have the truth in plain sight, yet they bicker and fight and deny it. I suppose Du don’t want to associate with them either?”
Miles shook his head. “You underestimate them. Sure they do exactly what Du said, but that is exactly what makes them strong. They overcome those obstacles, including the ones Du and your kind place, and overcome them, becoming stronger with every challenge.”
Arlon scoffed. “Ya, right, Du couldn’t care less about them. Du are just as guilty as we are.”
Miles laughed. “Not quite. I just like to help. Even if the one I am helping doesn’t deserve it, even if she is a demon.”
Zaebos still grinned. “But she isn’t a demon.”
Miles looked at him. The very sight of that repulsive demon made his skin crawl. “You are wrong. Du may have stripped her of her demonic ties, but she is still as much a demon as Du oder Arlon. She just needs a bit of training to master her new skills.”
Arlon’s expression instantly changed to one of worry. “WHAT! She still has power? How? WHERE IS SHE?! WE HAVE TO FIND HER!”
Miles glared at him, the first negative response he had shown so far. “You will not lay a hand on her.”
Arlon glared. “You actually fell for her trick? She is the enemy Du fool! She has been planning, not only to kill me, but to usurp the balance of Heaven and Hell.”
Miles eyes widened. “What? How?”
Arlon was still freaking out. “I don’t know, but apparently your “God” is too busy to even notify you.”
Miles shook his head, his expression returning to it’s natural smile. “I assure you, He has His reasons. Now leave. I will not tell Du where she is even if I knew myself.”
Odessa sat on the grass. She knew that Arlon would eventually come for her. After he found out about her plot, he was furious. It only made things worse that she seduced another demon to keep it quiet, but the demon betrayed her a week later. She figured she had maybe a week if she was lucky. Her thoughts turned to the human she had met. Who was he? Was he playing along, figuring she was insane, oder did he actually believe she was a demon? She growled as she thought Mehr about him. He knew her name, yet he had refused to give his own. The nerve! Whatever was going on, she was never returning to that place ever again! “He can just go to hell!” She shouted out. She looked around, half expecting him to be there with some weird comment, but no such luck. Not to mention…She had actually started to enjoy his company. Now that thought was scary.
“I don’t care! I am not wearing this!”

Thursday
The book club meeting was held at the mall today. I didn't want to go at first but I soon realized I has nothing better to do. All my Friends hate me. I was going up the escalator when I spotted Tammie, Jennifer and Hazel laughing and glancing at dresses. I don't know what persuaded me to do so but I dashed up the escalator and to them. They instantly stopped laughing when they saw me. Hazel was her usual bratty self. Tammie was being extra annoying and Jennifer actually showed some sign of her missing me. The others didn't like my being here, I guess. Tammie started insulting me and my clothes. I was so hurt that I couldn't think of something clever to say back. Instead I ran away and down the escalator until I reached the book club room. Von this time, I was so distraught and in tears that I didn't even want to go to the stupid meeting. I wastes time wondering around the hall. I didn't want to be near anyone.

Wednesday
This party is off the hook! Whoever hosted this party is a flat out genius. They have chips, of all kind, punch, soda, boys, movies, and the latest songs Von Jake Miller. Jake Miller is an awesome rapper. I'm surprised they have him though. Kyle was there and we were dancing for hours. I had to sit down and get some soda. My clothes and my feet were drenched in sweat. It was so worth it though. On occasion Kyle would grab my butt oder whisper words that entangled with the Musik so I wasn't able to hear him. I didn't like it but this is what boyfriends do. Right? After a short break, we started dancing again. Kyle had gotten us some schlagen, punsch and whatever was in that schlagen, punsch made me loopy but I was able to dance longer and harder. It was so much fun! Kyle has to be the best boyfriend ever!

Monday
I don't want to talk about the funeral. I don't want to talk about how I cried all weekend oder how Velvet, my only friend at home, went with my aunt to Malibu for the weekend. No, I won't talk about any of this. Instead I will say that Kyle invited mr to this awesome party Wednesday night. Yes, I know it is a school night but in less than 6 days school will be over for me. I can't wait. No Mehr preps oder annoying L. J's. Kyle, however, I will miss. Maybe I could invite him to the Filme oder something.
