Ian Somerhalder’s Major ‘Vampire Diaries’ Spoiler: Is Delena Endgame?

Could Delena really be endgame? During the 2015 TCA press tour, Ian Somerhalder hinted that at the end of the day, it will always be Elena and Damon!

Ian Somerhalder feels the same way we do — Damon and Elena are “deserve” a happy ending! The actor looked better than ever at the Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa on January 11 in Pasadena, Calif. and revealed that the second half of season six will definitely be filled with love. “The three or four [or] five months that were skipped over, the honeymoon phase, you don’t typically get to see Damon in a time and space where he’s truly happy,” Ian said at TCA. “It’s great to see anyone happy at any time. They’ve been through a lot. Love trumps all. So when you see, you want it to win.”

about time! However, could they end up together in the very end? The show just got renewed for a seventh season but could it be the last? His statement came right after Julie talked the 

Julie revealed at TCA that she and Kevin Williams came up with an ending for the series while shooting season two!

“Kevin and I came up with and then cried over our perfect ending,” Julie said. “And really stuck to that for many, many years and now the show has actually gone on, and will most likely go on a bit longer than we ever dreamt of. So [the ending has] evolved, but it’s still rooted in that same idea.”

Of course, Ian called that “evasive,” even though we totally wanted more! Just to refresh your memory, season two ended with Damon confessing his love to Elena when he thought he was dying in bed — and then Katherine saying it’s ok to love both Stefan and Damon. Oh boy.

Another important tidbit — Mason Lockwood was a big character in season two, so please Julie, bring back Taylor Kinney.

Guys,guys don’t you get it? The whole show is more about Delena than anything else. Elena and Stefan were brought together because the doopelganger thing wanted them to be together,that’s why they were so rushed drawn to each other within the first minutes, but love was what brought elena and damon together,she had to met stefan so that she met her real love which is damon.And the theory that elena human would choose stefan over damon is not correct cause if you payed attention to the show in the episode where she dies and she talks on the phone with damon,she said to him ‘Maybe if we had met first’ and at the same episode we learn that they actually had met first so Elena human or vampire she would always choose Damon.

What person falls in love with another person while they are in a relationship? Well not a happy one of course,if the love elena had for stefan was that strong she would never fell in love with damon at first place.I think the show has always been telling us that Damon is Elenas real love.

At the episode where the Markus was playing with elenas and stefans minds to bring them together when elena and stefan talked they both agreed that that life Markus made them saw was the perfect life but it didn’t feel real and they said that you can’t be friends with someone if you are in love with them,Damon and Elena tried to stay friends and they both couldn’t do it because they are in love,while Elena and Stefan are just friends now.Plus,Delena had like the most romantic and beautiful moments that I have ever saw in tv for a couple.

Stelena never made our hearts beat faster,never had breathtaking moments like Delena has.You must be too dumb or too delusional to not see Delena is meant to be. Even if Delena isnt the endgame they can’t bring stelena together again after Delena happened, if they went back to were they were it would never be the same.Delena is real and is EPIC!!!!

I could not agree more – Stefan/ Elena young sweet innocent pure love was a great story to get fans interested in the the show and introduce these 2 vampire brothers. But they outgrew each other and the purity died when Elena became a vampire because Stefan did not love her enough to accept her for what she became. Damon clearly stated – “I am good with her either way” flaws / fangs and all – which is a testament of true love. When Damon declared his love for Elena in S2, I knew he was committed for the long haul. I can’t wait for S6 to return and see Delena finally Happy!

I am proud to say i’m part of the minority and that i’ll always ship STEFAN and ELENA no matter what. It was a magical, pure and intense relationship with ups and downs, support and sacrifice. Beautiful and heartbreaking.

Never saw the chemistry between Damon and Elena, and no matter what writers make them say to each other and about each other, they can never outtop the epicness of Stelena. It’s fake and it’s forced. They couldn’t even pull the rain kiss scene right. Although, once a big fan, i stopped carring about this show since it went downhill. As a viewer i feell cheated and very disappointed by the whole rewriting thing. R.I.P. TVD, LONG LIVE STELENA.

I completely agree with everything you had to say, but at the end of the day all the writers are gonna care about is ratings and with that the majority will always win.

dont end the show. at least bring it up to season 9. It’ll suck if it ends this way. or ends so soon in general. and Damon and Elena need to be together forever lol.

Geez I feel like there’s more stelena fans in these forums than there are actually watching the show lol but given that the polls show Delena is far ahead i’m thinking the delena’s got tired of arguing with y’all and just let you have your rant time XD either way Delena will most likely be endgame as it should true love prevails. Anybody disagree they should watch “the notebook” LOL true love isn’t easy but it’s worth fighting for.

To be honest I whouldn’t compare “the notebook” to delena, that movie is all about first true loves. That would mean your implying stelena would be endgame. I always thought Stelena would be endgame because of movies like the notebook, but then the show changed and now I couldn’t really care less. I guess we will have to wait and see!

I can’t believe it, delena shouldn’t be the end game because Stelena was way better. And Damon is too wild for Elena, he’s better with Katherine. You guys should realize that. Stelena, always and forever,

I’m tired of Delena but I do not want to see Elena with Stefan, he deserves better. And Caroline doesn’t deserve to be left with her best friend’s leftovers, so Steroline, thanks but no thanks. I’ll finish by saying that Bonnie deserves a better storyline and a better partner than Jeremy. I’m glad Steven R. McQueen is leaving the show, ’cause he too deserves better than being Jeremy.

I think Damon and Elena work better, Bonnie should be with Jeremy they just match profession wise on the show. For a twist though it should be Stefan with Caroline. They’ve been friends for how long and the chemistry is there. It just makes more sense. As for Katherine, she should just go with her daughter and Bugger off.

No it should be Stefan and Elena, Damon needs to be with Bonnie or back to the bad guy, he made a better bad guy. Stefan and Elena had true love, Damon and Elena have lust. Just bring a bad girl in for Damon.

Thank goodness. Their relationship has been developing and growing from the very beginning, and is far more interesting than Stefan and Elena were together. Plus, I’m sorry but Elena going BACK to Stefan, after everything she’s gone through with Damon, would just be plain weird and would make NO sense. Especially after learning that Stefan and Elena are “fated” to be together, Their relationship is forever tainted to me. Damon and Elena’s relationship is real and I’m excited to get the chance to see them together for real, without all the stupid obstacles they’ve had to overcome in seasons 4-5. I’m almost surprisingly excited to see what happens with Kai, and how that whole storyline will play out.

Challenging live is the best the person puts you in your place and challenges you to be the best you Damon and Elena are ment to be but through in some spicy with Stefan I love the temptation between them

No no. Elena and Stefan always and forever. Their love story is so much better that Damon and Elena. They have a real connection and their love was pure and intense.

Đamon saw her first the night her parents died. They hit it off and you knew they would be good together. Besides it’s not like any of it follows the books anyways…f books..6 seasons?? Yeah…..
