I don't agree with Cherie not only the famous five should be known as The Runaways, Viki, Laurie, Micki and Peggy should all be known as the Runaways.
The was really bitchy of Cherie to say that I mean she quit.

Okay, time for a long pissed!Dasm rant. Brace yourself.

I think this is the most ridiculous thing Cherie has ever done. That includes that piece of shit movie she had a hand in. Basically, what she's saying is that if you weren't fortunate to be in the band when she was there to grace it with her presence, you are insignificant and should receive absolutely no recognition for the time you put in to keep the band going. I think that's complete bullshit. Could that woman possibly be any more full of herself?

First off, Cherie wasn't even an "original" member of the band. If we're going by Cherie's word, "original", Micki Steele has more right to call The Runaways her band than even the great Cherie does.

Last I checked, they were called The Runaways, not The Cherie Currie Band. I'm guessing Cherie doesn't remember that she actually tried gong solo and failed. Just because she was the frontwoman for a while doesn't mean that it was HER band. She quit, remember?

And to the person who picked the 'agree with Cherie' option - back it up. Comment and tell me why. I dare you.

The only bass player that should be considered a real Runaway is Jackie. She's the most famous bass player, and people usually like her more than the others.

Just because she was more famous doesn't mean she was the best. Saying the others are less worthy because "people usually like Jackie more" is ridiculous.

@DarkSarcasm, sorry that it has been a month since you responded to what I said, and I'm just now replying:
I get what you mean, but think of it like this:
Jackie was the only bassist who had to put up with being managed by Kim Fowley! None of the others did. And although it may seem unfair to mention that she's the most famous bassist and most people's favorite bassist, it's a true fact. Plus, she appeared on the most amount of albums. Saying that the others should be recognized as much as Jackie is like saying that the very orginial members of The Beatles (Some members who were in the band before they got famous) should get just as much attention as John, Paul, George, and Ringo!

Kim Fowley put The Runaways together. The only bassist that came in after Kim left was Laurie - that means Micki, Peggy, Jackie and Vicki all had to deal with him.

I think the reason most people say Jackie is their favorite is because they don't know anything about the rest of the ladies. I don't know anything about The Beatles and don't really give a shit, but I'd expect someone who calls themself a fan of a band to know at least a little about their history. I'm not saying that the members who weren't in the most famous line-up should get the same amount of attention as the Five, but they shouldn't be ignored. They were a part of it too - whether they were your favorite or not.

Well, I assume that this'll be my last reply regarding this, but I'd like to say that I know more than just "a little about their history". When I said that Jackie was the only bass player who had to deal with being managed by Kim, I meant that she had to deal with him the longest. Micki Steele wasn't in the band for all that long, and neither was that Peggy Foster girl. Jackie came next, and stayed with the band for a year and a half. Then, Vicki was in the band, but she didn't have to be around Kim for very long, because Kim soon pulled out of everything, and they got a new manager. And last, like you mentioned, Laurie had nothing to do with him. In my opinion, the other bass players don't even touch upon the surface of how great Jackie Fox is.

Well, since you assume that'll be your last reply, I'll just repeat:

Micki, Peggy, Vicki & Laurie were a part of The Runaways whether they were your favorites or not. They were there. They played. They kept the band going. The end.
