Well, turn that frown upside down as that may not actually be the case according to star Sir Ian McKellen.
Speaking to the BBC at the London premiere of The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, the 75-year-old actor who has played wizard Gandalf throughout Peter Jackson’s six films based on the books by J.R.R. Tolkien, said: ‘I was told by Peter, in 2001 that that was the end, that it was all over.
‘[However] here we are 13 years later. So I don’t believe necessarily that this is the end of the journey.’
Surmising: ‘The movies will go on being seen, people will come to them freshly for the first time…the thing goes on living.’
