2006's Superman Returns might look like a reboot of Superman, but it's actually a sequel to the Christopher Reeve Superman films. Rebooting franchises has been a very common trend in Hollywood. However, the Liebe for the classic Superman films was so strong that it was decided to make a film that would serve as a nostalgic tribute to what came before.
