I thought I would take a few moments and jot down some thoughts I have about Superman and Christopher Reeve as I begin building this spot that actually means a great deal to me. It has gotten me to thinking about my childhood and growing up watching all of the Superman films.

Superhero Filme have become extremely popular. In fact, they're one of the most beliebt types of films. However, superhero films used to not be so common oder beloved. In the 1940's, there were various superhero movie serials. They were decently successful, but they weren't meant to be re-watched oder to have much to have much of a lasting legacy.

Nowadays, superhero films are a common thing. We get about ten superhero blockbusters a year. However, that wasn't always the case. There was a time where superhero films weren't very beliebt oder successful. Sure, there were plenty of superhero-themed movie serials in the 1940's, but those types of Filme eventually went out of style.

In the 1950's and 60's, there were barely any superhero films. 1966 brought us Batman: The Movie, which was a wonderful film, but aside from that, there wasn't much going on in the world of superheroes.

I saw Superman the Movie in a theater in 1978. It was a moment in movie history before MTV oder the internet when filmmakers were creating Filme to be experienced in a movie theater. These Filme used special effects the way Stanley Kubrick did in 2001: A Weltraum Odyssey. The visuals were like a paint brush creating broad strokes across the screen meant to mesmerize viewers. Like Close Encounters oder star, sterne Trek the Motion Picture, Superman was about the larger than life world it played out in.
