A few weeks had pasted and no one had heard from Sherlock. Joan spent most of her time at the police station, trying to help in anyway she possibly could. Gregson came back after searching for three hours.
'Any luck?.' He shook his head.
'We tried everywhere, we even back tracked to places we've already search. There's so sign of him.' Joan rubbed her eyes. 'You need to go home.'
'No, i'm fine.'
'It wasn't a suggestion. Go Home and get some sleep, if there's any news i'll call you.' Joan sighed.
'Alright.' She gathered up her stuff and headed home. She stopped at the flat along the way to check if he was there. But he wasn't there, he never was. He wouldn't risk it.
When she returned home, her mum was sitting in the living room.
'Hey mum.'
'Where did Du get to last night?.'
'People normally say 'HI' back.' She took off her coat. 'I went out.'
'Where?.'
'Just out.' She went into the küche but her mum was very persistent.
'You were at the station again weren't you?.'
'Maybe.'
'Joan, this isn't healthy. Du need to rest and i bet you've not even eaten these past few days.'
'I have Mehr important things to do then eat and sleep.' She tried to leave but her mother blocked the doorway. 'Mum.'
'You need to give this up now Joan.'
'I can't.'
'Why not?.'
'I need to find him. I need to know that he's ok and that he's not lying dead somewhere.' Her mum sighed and shook her head. 'What?.'
'I told Du this job was no good, Du should have gone back to being a surgeon.'
'Well i didn't. Sorry to be such a disappointment.' She pushed past her and went upstairs to her room. She hated her mother sometimes. She always knew the exact buttons to push. Joan sat on the bett with her head in her hands. Then a knock came from outside the window. She turned her head.
'Sherlock?.' She opened the window and he came in. 'Sherlock!.' She hugged him so tight, never wanting to let go. 'Where have Du been?.'
'Here and there.' She started to cry. 'Why are Du crying?.'
'I'm happy.' They stood there for what felt like forever.
'I'm so sorry. I never meant for Du get involved. I never want to put Du through this again.'
'Then Weiter time, don't run away.' She pulled way gently. 'You look terrible.'
'You look shattered.' They both laughed.
'So why are Du here?.
'I wanted to see you.'
'The police could have been outside.'
'I didn't care.' He placed his hand on her cheek. 'I've missed Du so much.'
'Just not enough to call.'
'You had to spoil it didn't you?.' She laughed.
'Sorry. How long can Du stay?.'
'About an hour.'
'Well why don't Du go wash and i'll try and get my mother out the house.' She left the room and went downstairs.
'Mum?.' She went into the living room and found a note on the table.
Gone out to give Du Weltraum to think about things.
She threw back on the tabelle and went upstairs to her room. She went into her wardrobe and found the clothes she manged to take from the flat for him, just in case. She heard him finish and went back downstairs to give some privacy. After ten minuets he came downstairs.
'Where did Du get the clothes from?.'
'Where do Du think?.' She went into the kitchen.
'How did Du get back into the flat?.'
'My keys. Has being on the streets this long made Du lose some brain cells?.' She filled the kettle.
'No. I just mean what if the police were there?.'
'They stopped looking there a couple of weeks ago. They knew Du wouldn't risk going back there.' She got mugs out of the cupboard.
'Then why did you?.' She placed the mugs down but kept her back to him.
'Because i wasn't about to give up. I never stopped looking for you.' He went over and wrapped his arms around her waist. She lent back into him. She turned her head so she could see him and he looked down at her. He smiled at her then slowly placed a tender KISS on her lips.
'I...' Before he could say anything the doorbell rang.
'I better get that.' She removed herself from his arms and went to the door, It was Gregson.
'Thomas, what are Du doing here?.'
'Just making sure your ok.'
'I'm fine. I feel alot better.' Sherlock listened to the conversation, hoping she wouldn't invite Gregson in, He didn't want to get caught.
'Thanks for checking on me, I'll see Du later.' She closed the door. 'He's gone.' Sherlock appeared in the doorway. 'What are we going to do?.'
'I don't know.'
'I think... Du should hand yourself in.'
'What?.'
'It's the only way to end all this. If Du keep running it'll only make things worse.'
'Then i'll go jail and never see Du again.'
'I'll be able to visit.' Sherlock shook his head.
'I can't believe we're actually talking about this. Is that what Du want, for me to go to prison?.'
'Of course not. How can Du even think that?.' She went over and took his face in her hands. 'I don't want to lose Du again.'
'So how can Du ask me to hand myself in?.'
'I want whats best for you, If Du disappear for another Monat the sentence Du might get will probably be worse then it is now.' She placed her forehead against his. 'Please do this. For me.' He looked at her for a moment.
'For you.' He kissed her. 'I Liebe you.'
'I Liebe Du too.' He took her phone out of her pocket and phoned Gregson.
'Joan, I...'
'Hello captain.'
'Holmes?.'
'I just wanted to let Du know i'm going to hand myself in. I'm at Joans, i'll be awaiting your arrival.' He hung up.
After ten minuets, Gregson came and handcuffed Sherlock. Joan couldn't do anything but watch him get led away in a police car. He looked out the window and smiled at her, He was just glad he got to tell her how he felt.
'Any luck?.' He shook his head.
