TNARR Episode Five: Wanted (Part 2)

Prologue-

PREVIOUSLY ON RED REVENGE...

Revenge walked in the door coughing, but still pissed off.

"What happened to you?" I asked.

"I got an answer out of the Dealer." Revenge said, sitting at the schreibtisch and typing on the computer, still coughing.

I sighed and tossed him a cough drop.

"Don't need one." Revenge said. "I need to find out what happens when Du combine-ah ha!"

"Combine what?" I asked, setting down my magazine.

Revenge didn't reply. He took a print out of the sheet and logged out of the computer. He walked out without a word.

"What? Can't a guy enjoy having a girlfriend?" he asked innocently.

I slapped him again. "Not this way." I replied, pushing his hand away from my hip.

"Hmmm. Maybe I need to re-think this relationship." he said, and walked away.

I was tempted to cry, but I didn't. I glared daggers after him, no pun intended, and walked away.

Revenge grabbed the guy's arm and twisted it, and twisted it, until I heard the 'snap' across the room.

"Revenge!" I called, trying to run over, but falling flat on my face.

The teenaged vigilante grabbed the guy's other arm and twisted it. I heard another 'snap' as I got up.

I finally reached Revenge and yanked him off the guy, shoving him to the ground.

"What the hell is wrong with Du today?" I asked.

He laughed and I felt something scrape my side. I put my hand on the pain and looked at it. Blood. Revenge pushed me off of him and got up, still laughing like Reaper, before grappling through the roof.

Draxx busted in, Pistolen aimed, scanning the area. He lowered the gun and came over to help me up, which I took.

"What happened?" he asked.

"I don't know." I said. "I don't know."

I grappled downtown and found the Quelle of the problem almost immediately. A ring of police cars had surrounded the Capitol building. Standing in front with a politician as a hostage was, Du probably guessed it, Red Revenge.

"What the heck?" I asked.

Act One:

"Wanted Part 2"

I tried to step forward, but Draxx held out his hand blocking my way.

"Chief..." I started, but he cut me off.

"He's threatened to do something to him. I don't know what, but the way he's been Schauspielen recently..."

"...You don't trust him." I finished.

Draxx nodded.

"Well what does he want?" I asked.

"I dont know." Draxx replied. "I'm not taking chances though."

Von then I had shrunk into the shadows. I made my way around the building and leapt down on to Red Revenge's back. I tackled him to the ground and pinned his arms.

"Go!" I yelled at the former hostage. He took off, tripping and stumbling to police protection.

My distraction in making sure the politician got to safety cost me my position. In a teilt, split second, I was on my back and Red Revenge was on oben, nach oben of me.

"What the heck is wrong with you?" I gasped as he pinned me to the ground. He grinned wickedly beneath his mask and stood up, placing a foot on my chest.

"Revenge! Freeze!" Draxx yelled. Revenge turned around to see a dozen laser beams aimed at his chest.

"Don't. Move." Draxx said, aiming down his pistol's sight.

Revenge grinned and went for his utility belt.

The cops fired.

He stood there as if invincible as the bullets hit his chest.

While he was preoccupied with the police, I grabbed his foot and pulled him to the ground. Before he could move, a bullet grazed his arm and the blood splattered on my uniform. I stabbed a needle into his arm and injected the liquid into it.

Revenge groaned as he tried to stand up. The cops aimed their Pistolen at him again, but it was useless. He fell to the ground. I picked him up and grappled away before Draxx could demand an answer.

"We may have to face the truth, Sarah." I sighed.

"Truth?" Sarah asked.

"That he's a criminal." I replied.

"Or that the Dealer affected him somehow." Sarah replied. "That blood on your uniform from him, I tested it and I got a chemical feedback. Some new chemical that the Dealer was putting out. I'm looking for an antidote, but it may take a while."

I looked at Sam, whose uniform had been replaced Von civilian clothes and his utility gürtel taken away, still unconscious on the couch where we had handcuffed him.

"How long should it take?" I asked.

"As long as Du make it." Sarah replied.

"What?"

"The computer files that contain the antidote are in a safe, sicher house downtown. I'm going to keep an eye on Sam, Du need to go get it."

"Why me?"

"Two reasons: If Du encounter trouble, Du can handle it, my crime-fighting skills are a little rusty."

"You actually fought crime?" I asked.

Sarah ignored my Frage and continued. "Plus, Du would be the only one who would have the code to get in."

"Say what?" I asked.

"He only gives the code to those closest to him. That would be you." Sarah said.

"Why wouldn't he give it to you?" I asked.

Sarah's expression turned sour. "Hurry, our time runs short."

Act Two:

Getting downtown was easy enough. I quickly ducked into the safe, sicher house and grabbed the files after entering the code. I was on my bike back when I got a Black Alert from Sarah.

"What is it now?" I asked myself before turning on the vidscreen.

Sarah's face appeared. "Red Revenge escaped! He knocked me out and grabbed his uniform before leaving!"

"I know where he went." I growled, screeching to a halt in the road.

"Wait! Come back to base! Now!" Sarah said.

"Why?" I asked, revving my motorcycle.

"Just trust me!" Sarah exclaimed.

I sighed and twirled around, heading for base.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Sarah loaded the vial into the dart gun.

"You only get one shot." Sara said, handing the gun to me.

I loaded the gun and nodded silently before sliding it onto my hip.

"Where is he?'' I asked, walking over to the computer.

Sarah pulled up an image of police cars pursuing a caped figure on a motorbike. "Downtown. Get-"

"Already on my way!" I yelled, revving my bike before speeding out of the garage.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

It didn't take long for me to find Revenge. He had left a path of total carnage and destruction. Police sirens wailed in the distance. I sped off towards the noise of weapons fire.

Rounding the corner, I almost died several ways. First, A car exploded n my face, which I barely avoided. Second, Daggers impaled themselves in my bike. Third, bullets from police weapons hit me dead in my chest. Finally, I had to jump off my bike into the middle of a firefight as it exploded against a wall.

I grappled to the oben, nach oben of a building. Attaching a scope to my pistol, I looked for Red Revenge.

"Looking for me?" a voice behind me asked.

I whirled around and pointed the gun at his chest, but he knocked it out of my hand.

"You really shouldn't have done that." he said, approaching me.

"Red, you're not yourself." I sagte calmly. "Let me help."

Revenge smirked under his mask and shoved me. I fell off the oben, nach oben of the building, but my hand stopped my descent at the last moment. I back flipped onto the roof and swung a kick at Sam.

It hit him square in the back and would've landed him if he hadn't fallen on an air conditioner. He turned around, grinning and raised his fists.

"Bring it, pretty girl." he said.

I growled and lunged at him.

"I hate it when Du call me that!" I sagte in between the trading of blows.

"Good." Revenge said. "Because I didn't mean it."

I froze at the insult and felt something hard come in contact with my jaw. I tasted blood in my mouth and stumbled back.

Bad move.

I fell off the edge of the building towards Draxx's mobile unit. I grabbed for my grapple gun, but it wasn't there. Revenge had stolen it!

"Ah, shit." I said. "This isn't good."

Act Three:

I groaned as Sarah wrapped up my ribs.

"Three broken. It'll be hard to breathe, much less do anything else." Sarah told me.

I grabbed at my ribs as I slipped my hemd, shirt back on. "Well who's going to stop Revenge?" I asked.

"Phoenix." Sarah sagte sadly. "She always is a desperate attempt at a rescue."

"No offense, but Du can't take Revenge. I was trained Von the best, and I can't take him." I said, shifting my position on the table. "What do we do?"

Sarah sighed and leaned back.

"His weakness is Pride. He thinks he can do it all. That's how we keep getting into these messes." Sarah said.

"Pride..." I thought for a moment before continuing. "What if we lure him into a trap?"

"What sort of a trap?" Sarah asked.

"Tell him I want to talk to him a the docks tonight. I'll take care of the rest." I said. However, when I attempted to get off the table, a huge burst of pain erupted from my ribs and I groaned, clutching them.

"You're not going anywhere." Sarah said.

"I don't have a choice!" I exclaimed.

Sarah opened her mouth to say something, but shut it. She sighed and nodded.

"I'll get the message." she said.

"This is going to be bad." I thought. I had a dummy set up on the docks that looked like me. One of Electro's old robots. When Revenge attempted to do whatever, I'd catch him and give him the antidote.

I heard the soft pads of his boots before he threw me over the edge. I brought him down with me though. I clawed his arm and blood ran onto my uniform. He grabbed my body and twisted it, causing me to yell in pain as Mehr pain erupted from my ribs.

We smashed into piles of crates and the antidote vial shattered, spreading over the fisch and us. I rolled over, groaning as Revenge stood up, shaking his head.

"What?" he asked. "What am I--Are Du okay?" he asked.

I groaned and rolled over, shaking my head. "Are you--?"

"Yeah." he replied. "Feel like I'm hungover. I'm good."

Police sirens wailed and Draxx's car screeched to a halt.

Von that time, we were already gone.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Draxx met us on the roof of the police station. Red Revenge walked over to him and I just stood there, trying not to breathe as much.

"Chief, I--"

Draxx cut the Black Hero off. "Shut it Revenge." he said. "You walk the fine line of villain and Hero. I used to allow it because I thought Du were strong enough. Not anymore."

Draxx tossed his dagger communicator to me. "Give me your cell." he said. Turning back to Red Revenge, he warned him: "Watch your footsteps very carefully, oder you'll end up downstairs instead of up here."

Draxx walked off, his short mantel blowing in the wind.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

"So? How did it go?" Sarah asked.

"Draxx doesn't trust Sam anymore." I sighed.

"Rightly so." Sam said.

I gave him an inquiring look, but he gave me one that sagte 'We'll talk about it later'.

"I'm going to bed." Sarah said. "Let me know if it's the end of the world oder something big."

Sam nodded and Sarah walked into the elevator, going upstairs.

Sam leaned vorwärts-, nach vorn and kissed me gently on the lips. I replied to it and placed my hands on his shoulders. He placed his on my lower back and pulled me closer as the KISS deepened. I felt myself falling onto the couch as we made up for the events of the past two days.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

"Draxx, here." Draxx said, picking up his phone.

"Test Success." An unfamiliar voice sagte over the phone, then it hung up.

Draxx looked at the call curiously, then returned to his work.
