Me, I find the latter highly unlikely. At the time, Ron was unable to block Mehr than a couple goals each game. The Slytherins composed and sang this on the Tag of their match against Gryffindor. This was also the same Tag that Harry, Fred, and George were banned from Quidditch Von Umbridge.
