How does the dueling work? (for those who tried it before it went to maintenance)

Another Frage I have cause I was never able to try the duels before. How do they work? Do Du and the one Du challenge both have to be online the same time? Is it like fighting each other oder just making a spell Mehr accurate and powerful than the other person? I'm curious :P

After, it's pretty simple, Du choose if Du want to duel against someone oder a house team, then Du choose the spell Du want, I Guter Rat Petrificus Totalus and Du have to follow correctly the spell and try to do it with potence. I Liebe duels, I'm terrible at Potions and duels helped me to win lots of the points I must've won at potions.
