Caryn finished fixing abendessen and told John that it was ready. As they ate, John said, "This is really good, Caryn." She said, "Thank you. My grandmother taught me how to cook." He said, "My grandmother taught me how to cook, too." Caryn smiled and said, "That's something cool that we have in common." After they finished eating, John helped Caryn wash the dishes. She said, "You didn't have to do that, John." He said, "I don't mind it. I've had to wash dishes most of my life anyway." She said, "Well, I appreciate your help." After that, she asked, "Are Du ready to go in the pool?" He said, "We just ate. Aren't Du supposed to wait an hour?" She laughed and said, "Turns out, that's a myth. You're no Mehr likely to drown oder get cramps if Du go swimming after Du eat." John smiled a little at this, but it didn't make him feel much better. He knew he had to tell Caryn the truth. If he pretended everything was all right, it would create a dishonest relationship. As the two of them headed to the pool, John said, "Caryn, I have something to tell you." She asked, "What is it, John?" He said, "I, um, I'm afraid of water." She asked, "Why didn't Du tell me?" He said, "I was afraid that Du would be ashamed of me." She hugged him and said, "John, I Liebe you. I could never be ashamed of you, ever." He said, "Well, that's a relief." She said, "I could help Du overcome your fear. Don't worry; I won't let Du drown." He said, "Okay." He took a step closer. He then slipped and fell into the pool. John began to panic under the water. Which way was up? Just then, he felt someone pulled him to the surface. He coughed up some water, and he looked to see who helped him. It was Caryn. She was still holding on to him. She asked, "Are Du okay?" He said, "I think so." She said, "No wonder you're scared of water. Has this happened to Du a lot?" He said, "More than I care to admit, but that's not why I'm afraid of water." She asked, "What happened to make Du so afraid?" He said, "When Pastor Thomas attempted to murder me for the Sekunde and final time, he shot me, and it caused me to fall into a river. I went under, and I couldn't see anything. Luckily, Peter jumped in to save me. I didn't come close to drowning, but it was close enough for me. As for the gunshot wound, the bullet didn't go in very deep. It only penetrated the skin." Caryn cried as she listened to the story. She said, "I'm so sorry this happened to you, but Pastor Thomas isn't here to hurt Du now. On oben, nach oben of that, this water is shallow and calm. Du don't have to swim. Just stand up." This made John feel confident. He stood Weiter to Caryn and said, "Thanks, Caryn. I'm glad I told Du about my fear." She said, "You're welcome. I'm glad about that, too."
During the 4th of July celebration in Oak Ridge, the members of New Religion decided to take Klondike out with them to get him used to noise and crowds. Lots of people stopped them and asked to pet Klondike. He was very happy getting petted. One person said, "He's a beautiful dog. What kind of dog is he?" Erin said, "He is a kreuz between a German Shepherd and a Siberian Husky." Another person asked, "How old is he?" Paul replied, "He will be three months old later this month." Klondike enjoyed all the attention he was getting. He didn't seem to mind the noises during the parade. That night, he wasn't even bothered Von the fireworks. Carl said, "I think he's mascot material. He doesn't have a problem with crowds oder noises." Lola said, "Yeah. He will do well when he starts touring with us." The members of New Religion knew that they got the perfect dog to be their new mascot when Fritz retires. Klondike will have big shoes to fill, but he'll certainly fill them.

The Weiter day, Leila and Greeley took Paul for a walk on the strand while Leila's aunt and uncle relaxed on the beach. Greeley said, "I can't believe today is our last Tag here." Leila said, "I know. Vacations always go Von so quickly." He said, "Let's make the most of the time we have." She said, "Yes." That evening, they had a seafood meal. They then began packing for their things so that they would be ready for their trip back home. Greeley sagte to Leila, "Thank Du for inviting me to go on vacation with you, Leila." She said, "You're welcome, Greeley." He said, "We'll have to do some Mehr fun things this summer." She said, "Yeah. That would be great." They settled into their beds to rest for the trip the Weiter morning.
The Weiter day, Greeley accompanied Leila and her aunt and uncle on a ride to the nearest beach. Leila's uncle drove. Leila's dog, Paul, enjoyed looking out the window at the sights. When they stopped for lunch, Leila took Paul out on a leash to "do his business". A few people stopped Leila and asked her, "What kind of dog is that?" Most people didn't believe her when she told them that Paul is a purebred German Shepherd Dog. Leila didn't mind, though. She was aware that most people don't know that Shepherds can be blue, especially solid blue like Paul. Around 6:00 that evening, Leila, Greeley, Leila's aunt and uncle, and Paul arrived at the property. It was a nice strand house, and it was very pet friendly. They were all tired from their trip. After unpacking, they got abendessen and relaxed for the rest of the evening. A few hours later, they called it a night.
Leila and Greeley had just finished their first Jahr of college. They were looking vorwärts-, nach vorn to the summer. Greeley asked, "What are Du going to do this summer, Leila?" She said, "I'm mostly going to relax and take it easy. What are Du going to do?" He said, "I think I'll do the same, but we should do some fun things this summer. After all, summer doesn't last forever." She said, "You're right. We should do some fun things together." He said, "I'd like that." Later, Leila texted Greeley and said, "My aunt and uncle and I are going to the strand this weekend. They sagte that I can bring one friend with me. I first asked Rita, but she can't come, because she's taking summer classes as well as taking on a summer job. Would Du like to come with us, Greeley?" He said, "I'd Liebe to, Leila." She said, "Great!" He asked, "Is your dog, Paul, going too?" She said, "Of course he is." The two Friends were looking vorwärts-, nach vorn to their weekend getaway.
