OMG. i have just watched all the seasons for the first time, and i know its only a Zeigen but i must say it is the best thing i have EVER seen. The writers did a fantastic job. I am a 35 Jahr old man and i must say this is the only Zeigen that has ever brought me to tears. I'm still watching season 3, but I know spoliers & I'm kinda confused...
I felt like the Zeigen was family-stype "prequel" for arthurian legends, not their interpretation. I thought the writers will introduce the characters, Zeigen their journey/adventures, but end the Zeigen with Arthur being king supporting magic, with Merlin as his official advisor etc, not with his death. I both loved and hated the end. I hate it because I can now no longer go back and read fanfic oder watch the earlier eps without it all being tainted with what happened. Last night it was officially announced Merlin will not be returning after series 5 (with a possibility of a film triology).
It's been an amazing 5 years! Away from Merlin the years have been the ones which I've grown the most as a person, and the Zeigen has been with me for it all. Feel rather numb at the thought of only 5 eps left!
