I remember visiting this website once...
It was called 12 Unbearable Struggles Only Klaus Mikaelson Fans Will Understand
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Let’s face it: Damon Salvatore may be sexy and mysterious, but Klaus Mikaelson is the ultimate bad boy. He’s ruthless, perpetually angry, and downright murderous at times; he will tear your heart out without flinching. However, despite his rage issues or the fact that his questionable actions have led to most of
characters pursing a personal vendetta against him, he’s not Mr. Absolutely Terrible. In all actuality, his true fans know this hybrid has a vulnerable side to him — a sweet one, even — that he only reveals to his baby daughter, siblings, and people he establishes a deep, meaningful connection with.
And although he doesn’t make it easy, which is one of the many struggles of his fandom, we adore his interesting, complicated self. Here are a few more that will make Klaus lovers truly relate.
1. Getting defensive when people blame Klaus for being the way that he is.
Sure, he isn’t the most well-behaved individual to ever walk the earth; but then again who is? Klaus has had a rough past with parents who created him; a product of his mother’s affair, he was abused and ridiculed throughout his childhood. And in case that isn’t enough, not receiving the same amount of love and support his siblings did, is enough to drive any bloodsucking creature mad. So no more blaming our sweetheart, okay?!
2. Feeling unbelievably annoyed every time Tyler turns up thirsty for revenge.
We get it, Tyler! You resent Klaus for turning you into a hybrid (temporarily, at least), killing your mother, and giving Caroline Forbes the best woodland romp of her life. But do you really think you can beat him? And if you did, do you think Caroline will want you back afterwards? It’s really time to move on.
3. Forever being torn about this moment.
Sure it’s hot and we ship Klaroline, but Klaus is ours first and foremost. When watching this scene we squealed with excitement because it was a long time coming. But we also turned green with envy! Apparently we can’t have it both ways.
4. Not being able to watch Klaus cry without sobbing.
It doesn’t happen often, but when there is an emotional scene and he starts to tear up, we can’t help but cry along. Why can’t the world just give him a break just once? We want him to be happy.
5. Wishing every day that Klaus could be your baby daddy.
It goes without saying that Hayley Marshall is a pretty good mom. She’s smart, she’s strong, and would to anything to protect Hope. Then again, the same applies to Klaus. The instant he held his tiny daughter in his arms and vowed to cast down her enemies and create a home for her to grow up in (“I promise you that, as sure as my blood runs in your veins, you will return to me”), we knew there was way more beauty in this beauty than we ever thought possible. He’s not only dreamy and compelling, but also a true softie — be still our ovaries! That being said, in a perfect world, Hayley would not even exist, becuase
be the ones helping Klaus raise his hybrid babies. Sadly this can never happen because #realitybites, but one can always dream.
6. Completely melting every time he calls someone “love.”
Ideally we would pay attention to every second of the show, but we stall a little bit after every time we hear him say this word. It’s just the cutest thing so how can anyone
7. Constantly trying to block out his flaws because you just want to love him.
We will be the first ones to admit that Klaus is…a complicated man. That being said, despite some of his cruel intentions, he also has a beautiful heart deep down in there and is in search of someone to quell his painless loneliness. Every time someone starts to point out his wrongdoings, we honestly just block it out or start making excuses for his behavior.
8. Freaking the hell out every time Klaus gets hurt.
He is not vulnerable very often, but when it does happen we find ourselves biting down on our nails. Sure he is an immortal creature — a super powerful Original — so it’s not likely that a regular ol’ stake through the heart can bring him to his knees. However, we love him too much and can’t stand the thought of going an episode without him. So he better make it!
We understand that the reason for his absence is because he and his siblings are so captivating they landed their own spinoff series; but if we had it our way — and time was not an issue — Klaus would appear on both shows. We’re not completely done with him facing off with Stefan and Damon, and
10. Experiencing all the feels during Mikaelson sibling scenes.
They usually aren’t on the same page so when we finally get to see how loving and protective Elijah, Klaus and Rebekah are of each other we can’t help but relish every second of their camaraderie. Hopefully they can learn to set aside their differences and get along to take down all their enemies wishing to do their family harm.
11. Always feeling resentful of the witches after what they tried to do to Hope.
There has never been a more heartbreaking moment than seeing evil witches carry off Hope while Hayley and Klaus helplessly watch, unable to do anything. So it’s safe to say you tend to harbor some negative feelings towards anyone who is awful enough to cause Klaus so much stress and agony — to make him feel like even
cannot fully protect his daughter from all the dangers of the supernatural world.
12. Having to choose whether you’ll start shipping Klaus with someone other than Caroline.
be great with someone else, but it’s certainly not an easy notion to embrace. Will anyone else ever measure up for our favorite hybrid much like Caroline Forbes did? Would Cami O’Connell? Would Hayley? Would we? Sigh. While it hurts to picture him being with anyone else but us, we have to try to root for someone because it’s better than feeling completely alone and full of emotional turmoil. After all, anyone who utters lines such as “You had me pegged from the start, a man damaged by his demons and those demons are not done; they are hellbent on killing me and everything I find beautiful. And you, you are beautiful” deserves some proper companionship.
So fang fans, which Klaus Mikaelson moment tore your heart asunder? Do you find yourself grappling with whether he’s actually a wicked hybrid or just a misunderstood being? Tell us in a comment!
