IU and rookie labelmate Yoon Hyun Sang Zeigen off their adorable chemistry as producer and singer in behind-the-scenes Videos of the making of his debut album Pianoforte.
Loen Entertainment has released, via Daum Music, a video of the production of Yoon Hyun Sang’s self-produced album, portraying his ability to direct the way his own album reflects his musical identity. Viewers are then graced with the presence of IU, who quickly moves onto communicating with him casually, as they are both 93-liners. IU lent her sweet vocals to the track “When Would It Be” on his new album as well.
The two start to get comfortable with each other while conversing about worries and excitement for the collaboartion, with IU expressing how it has been a long time since she recorded a song while being directed, and Yoon Hyun Sang replying that his concerns revolved around the fact that this is his first time doing the directing. The two then bond over the fact that they both lacked sleep that night due to the overwhelming anticipation, with IU revealing that, in fact, it was she who volunteered herself as a collaborator on a track that was originally a solo for Yoon Hyun Sang, vowing not to let him down.
Along with the clip is an interview that IU conduted with Yoon Hyun Sang, with Fragen revolving around his song-writing process.
IU: What kind of an experience was it to work with me?
YHS: It was such an honour to work with my senior. It was an experience from which I learnt a lot from, and I am very thankful.
IU: What kind of background does your Titel track “When Would It Be” come from? Is it based on personal experiences?
YHS: The underlying theme is to do with a personal experience, a lot of the messages in the song were processed carefully with a lot of thought. They may not all be events that happened to me, but I feel like a lot of listeners will be able to relate to it.
IU: Judging Von the fact that all of the songs are written Von yourself, it is undeniable that Du are an amazing songwriter. Do Du have any tips Du would like to share on song writing?
YHS: This may be quite contradictory to itself, but sometimes, when Du feel like a song isn’t working out, give up on it. At other times, if Du feel like Du want to give up, keep on persevering. I think that is quite a good experience.
IU: So far, how long did it take Du to write a song in the fastest time possible?
YHS: I’d say 10 minutes? It’s not a track that I’ve revealed yet. I was on the phone, catching up with a friend one day, and the words and phrases out of that conversation seemed to complete the song. This is something that I say a lot, but I personally believe that a song is completed after the first verse.
IU: Out of all the tracks on your album “Pianoforte”, which do Du like the most?
YHS: I personally favour “October”, I’m guessing it’s because it’s October now.
IU: If your album happens to achieve number one, what would Du like to do first?
YHS: Screenshot it? (Laughs) I have no idea because it’s such an unthinkable achievement for now. I’d like to think about it when I actually achieve number one.
IU: I recently held a series of small-theatre concerts and really enjoyed. Where would Du like to perform for your first concert?
YHS: While small-theatres have their own charms, I’d like to perform at a big theatre as well. I think the sound resonance and insgesamt quality of a large-scale theatre is incomparable. I also think it’s be less nerve-wracking to perform at than a small-theatre. But, I would really Liebe to work with Du at a konzert one day.
IU: And, to finish us off, is there anything Du would like to say to IU?
YHS: Though you’re a senior, you’re also my friend, so I’ll address this to my friend… Everything in the album is to be accredited to you. Thank Du so much. Please take care of me, sunbaenim~
The two really Zeigen off a lovely chemistry, both as collaborators inside and outside the recording room. Check out their behind the scenes chemistry here:

KBS 2TV's 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook' had a Jeju Acoustic Festival (JAF) special on September 13, featuring singers John Park and IU, who saw each other again for the first time in a long time!
IU said, "I like acoustic Musik with its simple composition. I think there's a high level of concentration," and performed an acoustic song with her soothing vocals. When asked if there was anything that came to mind in relation to Jeju Island, IU said, "I like Jeju Island's hallabong the best (a type of clementine). Its sweet taste is the best."
This cued John Park to appear holding a Jeju Island hallabong. He said, "It has been a while since I saw IU since a guest appearance at a concert. Today, she gives off a mature and womanly feel."

IU went for a simple girl-next-door look. She paired the bluse with pfirsich colored shorts and a bright color block shoulder bag. She opted for natural make-up and "apple hair" with loose curls. Na-Eun went in a different direction when styling the blouse. She wore the piece with a white high-waist flared rock with black polka dots. She, too, went for a natural look with light make-up and loose curls.
IU's outfit was perfect for her role as Soon Shin. However, I think Na-Eun really shined in this outfit. I Liebe that she ran away with the feminine look. The rock perfectly balances out the attention from the bare shoulders and ruffled sleeves on the blouse.
But in the end both ladies looked beautiful!
