So many characters. So many locations. So many new and interesting words ("Warging? What the eff is warging?").
can be a tricky series to keep track of, and it\'s all too easy to forget incredible moments from the show\'s past. Events that could turn out to have huge significance later on. You\'d have to be a Grand Maester to remember some of these little pieces of
Game of Thrones: which fan theories have been debunked and which still have juice?
Fans have long been calling for a face-off between the Clegane brothers - merciless monster Gregor and his still-quite-brutish-but-somehow-loveable sibling Sandor.
clashed swords - way back in episode five of the first season, \'The Wolf and the Lion\'.
Serving as Joffrey\'s bodyguard at the tourney, Sandor interrupted Gregor\'s attempt to murder Loras Tyrell and the two feuding brothers fought bitterly until Robert Baratheon called their skirmish to a halt.
No-one\'s forgetting The Mountain\'s bout with Oberyn Martell in a hurry - especially the Red Viper\'s
defeat - but do you remember him executing wily Beric Dondarrion?
Dondarrion - the eye-patch-sporting leader of the Brotherhood Without Banners - was played by an entirely different actor (guest star David Michael Scott) when Ned Stark sent him to his death at Mummer\'s Ford.
He resurfaced, now played by Richard Dormer, much later in the third season, having been resurrected by the red priest Thoros of Myr.
To rub salt in the wound, Dondarrion was then killed again by The Hound... though he\'s apparently invincible these days and swiftly sprung back to life.
Ser Gregor\'s endless face-swapping - three different actors have played the Mountain to date - can make it tricky to remember who the character is supposed to have met.
Do you recall, for example, his encounter with Arya back in season two - when she was Tywin Lannister\'s cup-bearer and he was played by actor Ian Whyte?
This was the beginning of Arya\'s own feud with The Mountain, earning him a spot on her kill list for leading the brutal tortures at Harrenhal.
... and generally just being a bit of a dick. The Kingslayer\'s a lot better behaved these days - more loveable rogue than utter shit - but back before he lost his hand and found some humility, Jaime Lannister was a proper villain.
Everyone remembers how he crippled Bran by pushing him from a tower (well, everyone but Bran, that is).
But who recalls his vicious killing of Jory Cassel, House Stark\'s captain of the guards? The two men fought together at the siege of Pyke during the Greyjoy rebellion, but that didn\'t stop Jaime from plunging a dagger through his former ally\'s eye socket.
Yup, before she was married to horrid Ramsay Bolton, Sansa was forced by Tywin to wed Tyrion - as part of a plan to bind House Stark to the Lannisters.
The marriage was never consummated ("By the law of the land, she\'s no man\'s wife," Littlefinger once remarked) but
Sansa\'s still married to the Imp. Which, given her second marriage to Ramsay,
Travelling to the Riverlands in search of Gendry (more on him later), the Red Priestess happened upon budding sociopath Arya and seemed rather shaken by their meeting.
"I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes... eyes you\'ll shut forever. We will meet again."
They haven\'t... yet. But could Melisandre\'s prediction play out at some point in
Returning to the Iron Islands for the first time in years, horny Theon decided to feel up the lady commoner who\'d offered him a lift on her horse. Except this kindly stranger was really Yara Greyjoy. His sister. Who also happens to be gay. It\'s icky on so many levels.
The Greyjoy heir just couldn\'t keep it in his pants... Until he lost it altogether.
8. Gendry being revealed as heir to the Iron Throne
Three years and 30 episodes since his last appearance, we\'d be impressed if you even remembered Gendry\'s face, let alone his placing as Robert Baratheon\'s bastard and so the last surviving member of House Baratheon.
He\'s got as solid a claim to the throne as Daenerys, but while she\'s
making her way to Westeros, Gendry\'s gotta just keep on rowin\'.
