After finally managing to free Kaitlyn, everyone regrouped in what looked like the lobby downstairs to discuss further plans on renovating.
“There's a hole in the roof in that room upstairs” Tressa gestured at the roof, “That's why the wood was rotted, with damp”
“We'll just have to stick a bucket under it for now, it's getting too dark to be going outside” Emma sighed. “For now, we'll just have to fix everything indoors”
“It would help if we could see...” Amber replied.
“I'll see if I can find the switch” Lexii stumbled around in the dark.
“Agh!” Kaitlyn screamed abruptly.
“Please don't tell me she fell through the floor again...” Bandit sighed.
“No! Some-Something touched my foot” Kaitlyn shivered, remaining still.
“Um, I think that was me...” Kiva replied.
Shine disagreed. “How could it have been you? You're over there somewhere. It was Tressa.'
“Hey, I'm right here” Tressa poked Shine in the ear. “Oops, sorry...”
“Wait wait wait, then who's Weiter to me?” Kaitlyn continued.
“It could either be... Amber, Bandit oder Emma” Tressa replied.
“Why am I not a suspect!?” Hybrid said, feeling left out.
“Because you're with Kiva!” Shine replied loudly.
“Just because I honestly don't know where I am, who's near me?” Bandit spoke up.
“I think you're- Ow!” Lexii replied, “You're in front of me...”
“Oh... Hello” Bandit laughed.
Kaitlyn wasn't feeling scared anymore, in fact, she was starting to have fun.
“So am I on my own?” She said.
“Wait, where's Emma then?” Kiva asked, raising a good point.
“I'm over here!” Emma's voice was faint but nearby.
“Marco?” Lexii said, flicking the switch.
“POLO!” Everyone yelled back.
“Emma?” Kiva called again.
A door opened behind them and Emma wandered in looking a little bewildered.
“How'd Du get out there?” Tressa giggled.
“I don't know, I wasn't moving” Emma replied.
“Then-” Kaitlyn began but was instantly cut off Von a blinding flash of lightning, touching down in the pond outside, sending all the lights off again.
it was followed Von a tremendous rumble of thunder before settling back to silence and darkness.
Lexii toggled the switch a few times but it was useless. The fuse box had blown and with no Quelle of light to find oder fix it, darkness was once again the order of the day.
“Surely someone has a torch...” Hybrid sighed.
“Well, do you?” Amber replied spryly.
“...no...” Hybrid confessed.
“Then stop complain-iiiiing!” Amber screamed, falling through a rotten floor board.
“A-Amber? Amber? Where are you, what's going on?” Lexii clung to Bandit.
“Did Amber fall through the floor too?” Kiva rolled her eyes.
“I'll get her...” Hybrid sighed and crawled down after Amber, avoiding the pipework below.
“OK, we should all stick together” Tressa called and at first, it seemed like a good idea.
“Is this really a good idea? I mean all our weight combined in one space?” Shine tapped the floor gently, feeling the boards bow and creak.
“... Ah” Tressa suddenly looked nervous.
The floor beneath them began to shudder violently and separated in one jagged rip like teeth on an open mouth, dark and hungry. Shine grabbed the ledge with her teeth, digging into the wood with all her strength. She needed it, as Emma grabbed her tail in a bid to escape the fall whilst Tressa had locked flippers with Bandit who'd stabbed her dagger into a board.
Lexii, Kiva, Kirin and Kaitlyn weren't so lucky and fell into the darkness.
“Oh my- what the heck happened!” Emma glanced down.
“Hurfrrsroke!” Shine mumbled.
They fell silent for a while, waiting for a sound from the others.
“H-How deep do Du think it is?” Tressa shivered fearing the worst.
“I think we're about to find out...” Bandit replied as her dagger began to lose its grip on the wood.
“Swing over! I can grab you!” Emma yelled, reaching out to Tressa.
Doing such, Emma managed to grab Tressa just as they fell. With the extra weight, Shine's little canines couldn't take it as pain seared through her jaw. She yelped painfully, letting go of the ledge, ripping a tooth clear from it's root.
Whether it was from fear of death oder the unknown, they blacked out.
