I noticed something odd while watching some of the Disney movies. Almost all the villains (excluding Shan Yu) have/had some part of either their outfit of physical appearance in the color of red. Part of the Queen's dress was red. Tremaine's, Gaston's, Jafar's, and Gothel's main outfits were all red. Both Maleficent's and Ursula's nails were painted red. Today I went to see my high school's drama Zeigen of Beauty and The Beast with my mom and 4 Jahr old niece. It was very entertaining and funny at times but still bland. Today was AWESOME! There's this kid who's been bullying me and today when he was bugging me I hit him in the face with my lunchbox. It wasn't exactly my first weapon of choice and I would've used my fist if the teacher wasn't there. He tackled me and the teacher pulled him back before I got the chance to elbow him in the neck. To me, Mulan is the most complex princess. She's truly dimensional and nuanced in a ways I think goes over a lot of people's heads, especially kids. When she admits to herself that it may not have just been self-sacrifice that led her to war but her need to find an identity worth embracing is REALLY deep. I didn't grasp what she was talking about in that scene when I was little, I just knew she was sad.
