I never saw this as Aurora being responsible or noble or making some active choice to do so and there's no indication in the movie either. To me, she was just spineless and chose to cry in bed and continue to do as she was told as she had done all her life. I didn't ever think she did it out of feeling a responsibility for her kingdom, just that she didn't take any stand whatsoever. I don't know where people get that from. Especially since she clearly doesn't want to and cries the whole time.

Because we already see she's responsible and obedient. but I like to think both. She's not very assertive to begin with. But she could've pulled and Ariel and just ran away to be with Philip.

There is absolutely nothing in that movie that makes me believe Aurora went back because she wanted to accept her royal responsibilities.

well wanting to accept your duty and actually doing it aren't the same. Belle clearly didn't want to be at the castle but she did it anyway because it was the noble thing to do.

That's how it always seemed to me. There is nothing that proves that she changed her mind and decided to marry for the good of her kingdom. Besides, she just learned she was a princess, you don't aspect her to be responsible about her kingdom when she doesn't know anyone there.

^^ This. I seem to now prefer Aurora to Elsa. When her fairy aunts broke the news to her, Aurora accepted that she suddenly had a whole new set of responsibilites thrust upon her. She cried for a while, but eventually took it on, and did her duty. Elsa...not so much.

A little of both, like AudreyFreak said.

Honestly, I think it's a little bit of both. But, I do think she was willing to put the needs and well-being of others before herself (going home to her parents and becoming queen for the good of the realm), which I will always find admirable.

To me, it didn't really seem like she had a choice.
