It seems to be common knowledge that Damon is over Katherine, but a perfect example of Damon still caring about Katherine is 2x17 (Damon being visibly upset over the possibility of Katherine’s death).
Since we all know Damon knows better than to let Katherine know a weakness oder wallow in whatever he might feel, what really makes Damon over Katherine? What makes Damon’s hard-found distance anything Mehr than an act?
The tomb scene? Well, yes — “Death would have been too kind” and all that jazz. However, when pushed, Damon has never killed Katherine, and I think that says a lot Mehr than an eternity of misery, ect that Damon tends to use on people when he’s hurt. Someone could actually take that as a way of Damon not completely letting go.
ALSO — Damon gave Katherine vervain, when he knows she’s an unreliable ally (and would Mehr than likey not care if she “owed him”), so why, if he doesn’t care at all?
While the idea that Damon still loves Katherine remains only a slight possibility in my mind - I’m very aware that Delena is the writer’s flavor at this moment, the idea of him not caring it all is even slimmer, IMO.
