When I go through Kommentare on "The Vampire Diaries", I read over and over that Fans have never wanted a couple to get together that much before, as they now yearn for Damon and Elena to end up together; and that is exactly how I feel, too. There is such an overwhelming majority who ships Delena, while Stefan is not presented as an evil guy oder something like that, and there has to be a reason for that enormous number of our size.
Damon and Elena are not only presented to be very much alike, there are so MANY parallels for them; they say things not only in the same way, but often WORD Von WORD; what Elena wants is EXACTLY what she has with Damon, and just listen to the words in the descriptions of Liebe and in the song texts in the background. There has to be a reason for that absolute similarity, and the producers of the Zeigen would lose their credibility, if they don’t let all of that mean something.
But now, at the beginning of season four, we have to endure too much Stelena crap. SE have no depth oder development, they hide from reality, and nothing can be felt with them; but the audience becomes fed up with all of that cheesy sh…, that is always the same and is not liked at all Von most of the viewers. We predicted that there would be Mehr Stelena now – so, we seem to understand the story (that means that we are right) –, and we knew that it would be harder for us, after we had Mehr Delena. It is Stelena’s turn now (after we got much), and the show-runners have to push SE, because DE won even Mehr support lately (and already had very much). But the ones responsible for the Zeigen overdo it with Stelena, it almost seems like they try to make the audience get fed up with SE. I doubt that that is their intention, because the executive producers obviously enjoy Stelena much Mehr than we Delena Fans do, while still delaying the final DE union, and because there is still much to come, while the dreieck will probably be an issue until the end of the show. So, the show-runners should concentrate Mehr on Elena’s transition and lessen the "Stelena cheese", if they don’t want SE to turn from "mostly not loved" to "really hated Von almost everybody". But all of this is actually good for us Delena fans, because Mehr and Mehr will Mitmachen our already huge side, and we have to be repaid for our pain at some point; and we now deserve our DE end even more.
It wouldn’t be a good story with things always staying the same, there has to be a reason for the development in the Delena Liebe story AND for the suffering of Damon as well as of us DE fans. Du can sense in the story that change is trying to get its way, there is no way around it.

That is another proof of Damon’s unselfishness – especially towards Elena –, and Damon already indicates that his decision is not selfish when he says to Elena: "Because I am that selfish, but Du knew that already, the first night we met is not the only thing Du remember." (Damon refers to his first Liebe confession, but he also animates for a closer look at his unselfish motives for wanting to save Elena).

Elena can in the TV Zeigen speak about what she felt drinking from Damon, but Du can’t tell what was lust and what need in that scene. I would like to see DE really EXCHANGING blood (preferably using something Mehr intimate than the hands as a source), and both longing to do so, not – like the producers called it – with Elena like an addict doing everything for a fix in the rest rooms of a bar. But also the DE Küssen started – like everything for Delena – slowly, so that I hope also here for an improvement with time; and we DE Fans are used to wait. I also thought the "orgasmic" Damon very HOT, but I felt so sorry for him, because it is always so painful for him to be close to Elena. I think that it is sad that there will be no consequences of the exchange of blood, and I definitely don’t want this blood-sharing to be a one-time thing (probably only to cause the DE Fans to keep watching); like I also miss any effects of the fact that it was Damon’s blood that turned Elena, although they shouldn’t get together only because of the blood (I specificly don’t want the exchanged blood to be used as an excuse for what will happen between Delena from now on [perhaps, only to let Elena use that explanation, until she will finally realize that it isn’t the truth]). To stay in the same episode, I prefered the scene behind the baum at the church, when Damon gently wiped away the blood from Elena’s face, and the look that they shared after that was so hot.
And there is something else: Delena get special and close moments in a cheap motel in the middle of nowhere and in the rest rooms of a bar. Of course, it is hot and there is that "forbidden love"-thing, but there is SO MUCH Mehr to DE. They are always there for each other, have that close friendship and deep bond and so many other aspects of their relationship. I don’t want Delena to be reduced to the filthy and lusting part of their relationship. This is a good way to keep DE in the story, while not changing the dreieck for a while, but we will never accept the amazing and unique Delena Liebe story to be turned into only that for good. And already with Damon always putting Elena’s needs first, there is always also another aspect of the DE Liebe involved.
And the blood-sharing scene is a good example for what can be found between Delena. There is Damon’s honesty, because he right away tells Elena that blood-exchanging is personal and intimate and that Stefan wouldn’t like Damon and Elena sharing blood, and there is Damon’s unselfishness, because it hurts him to be close to Elena and to give her up again after it, but he ignores his own well-being and still tries to help her. On the other hand, there is Elena again coming for Damon for help (behind Stefan’s back), and Elena willingly sharing an intimate moment with Damon.
Because Damon is always there for Elena; he is the one that she runs to, he is the one who helps her. They depend on each other and are deeply connected, and it is not possible for them to be without the other. Elena got along well while Stefan was gone in season three. Klaus wanted to use her and Rebekah was after her, but Damon protected her. Elena tried to get Stefan back with them and fought her feelings for Damon, but she handled her everyday life. The only time that she really was in danger in that phase, was when Damon left with Katherine. Elena herself sagte that she wouldn’t know what to do without Damon with her (like she can’t even imagine a universe without Damon in the books, where there is no world for her without him [The Return: Midnight, 38]), and Damon promised to never leave her. But now, although Elena declared at the end of season three to let Damon go, she didn’t; the situation is like it was before, with Damon close to Elena and them sharing special moments and dealing with their mutual affection and attraction. Elena knows that Stefan doesn’t like her to be close to Damon, and she has to know that Damon suffers whenever he gets close to her again, but she none the less repeatedly turns to Damon, who supports her in whatever way he can, and she keeps him involved in her life. Elena still fights her feelings for Damon, but suppressing makes emotions only stronger. And as soon as Elena will get used to her new existence and get the chance to deal with her emotions, she won’t be able to escape her Liebe for Damon any longer.
There was no exclusive Delena-time so far, and Damon wasn’t first for Elena in anything yet, but we still have the best journey, that is Von far most beloved. Everybody waits for the Weiter steps in the DE relationship; very few fear those steps, but they await them none the less (perhaps, like a car driving towards them before an accident), while almost everybody longs for those steps. The viewers are on the other hand SWAMPED with "Stelena cheese", that most of us never liked and that annoys us Mehr and more, so that there is nothing to be awaited in the SE relationship – except for it to fail. But we Delena Fans Liebe and cherish the unforgettable DE moments, we keep and repeat them again and again, and we can’t wait to get to the Weiter one. But no matter if in fear oder – like we and the clear and outright majority – in cheerful expectation, everybody always waits for the Weiter moving Damon-and-Elena-scene and for the deepening of their relationship.
But we already had a slow start (and also because of that, we deserve Mehr in the end), had to wait very long for the Delena Liebe story to get really started in the TV show, but it was always worth waiting for. We enjoyed the amazing build up and the unique journey of the DE relationship and cherished every wonderful moment of it. And although it already went on for years, the Liebe story of Damon and Elena is still exciting and moving and has never Lost any of its beauty.
And "The Vampire Diaries" is mostly about Damon proving himself, while he has to undergo suffering and pain, and Elena fighting her Liebe for Damon, while Du can never escape love. The storylines of the original vampires, of the Supernatural stuff and of Elena’s Friends happen in the background, while the main focus lies on Delena. When Damon and Elena will finally be together, there can’t be something the other way around – with Stelena fighting their feelings for each other; the story would be over instead. (DE could end up in bett one time, but still not be together for some time while dealing with their emotions, before it really comes to the final Delena union; but otherwise, we would have to wait for the real end. [Although it has to be an extreme situation for Damon to give in to Elena in that way, gegeben how painful that would be for him afterwards and how selflessly he always tries not to take adventage of her. That could be something that could drive him to leave (of course, not for long) oder SE to break up oder otherwise change the situation. And Elena could definitely stay alone for some time in the show.]) Although to be fair, it has to be sagte that Stefan hasn’t had the chance to prove himself yet, he never was the one standing aside and watching the others’ happiness, while Damon can Zeigen his unselfishness again and again throughout the show, while he is always Sekunde choice, nobody (except for Elena) believes in him and he has to watch SE.
But Elena wouldn’t wake up one morning and decide not to Liebe Damon anymore and stick to Stefan for good. She already tried everything to stop loving Damon, and NOTHING worked out (she only pretends to, but never stopped). Damon and Elena did what they could, but it is just not possible for them to be without the other and not to Liebe each other. I hope though that they won’t get together too soon (while at the same time wanting them to be together so desperately); the story as well as the marketing of the Zeigen make it inevitable that Damon and Elena will become a couple at some point. But the foundation has to be set perfectly, and although I can’t imagine the DE relationship not to work out and Delena not to end up together, I guess that my fear will increase as soon as they will really get together, although I desire to see them together. Elena could confess her Liebe to Damon at some point (we already know that she loves him – and most importantly, she SHOWS repeatedly that she really does), but say that it doesn’t make a difference and that she didn’t want to complicate things so that she didn’t tell him before. That would be a nice moment for us, but then, there definitely has to be another Liebe confession later, when Elena will finally realize that she wants to be with Damon. People want what they don’t have, and an official Delena relationship hasn’t been there so far, but the story is building up to it perfectly.
We DE Fans are always so close to get what we so desperately desire, but we still don’t have it. Everything leads to the fulfillment of our biggest wish, but our fears are willingly kept alive. But the waiting and the delaying is what really makes the Delena Liebe story so epic and legendary. We follow their story mainly because of that, while their relationship is slowly, but carefully and in detail deepened, so that an everlasting Liebe is created.
Stefan could die at some point, and Elena has to prove to Damon that she doesn’t only want to be with him because his younger brother isn’t around anymore, but that she really loves Damon; but I doubt that, because I think that all three main characters will be kept until the end.
So, what we Delena Fans can do, is to keep on voting, collecting clicks etc. and speaking up to make it known that we are enormously annoyed Von all of the SE crap, but not bothered, because the story still leads to the DE endgame and because we still believe in Delena; that we can never wait for Mehr about DE, but enjoy their journey very much; that we will NEVER give up on Delena and have very good reasons for that. We have to stick together and make our thoughts and understanding known (while we still have the clear and outright majority in Umfrage about what we WANT, we nowadays also have to fight the pessimists of our fanbase in Umfrage about what we THINK; and some DE Fans even quit because they can’t bär the pain anymore). We have to use and point out our overwhelming majority and spread our convincing reasons; that is our duty as Delena shippers.
I want Damon and Elena to be endgame, and although I would like to see something of their relationship, I prefer them ending up together to watching them being together. I know that we Fans are real and that it is only a story, but I take Damon as an example and Zeigen my unselfishness in accepting to only see them get together at the end, as long as they will have a happy future after that. I want Damon and Elena to live happily ever after, because I need that justice with everything leading there and after everything that they and we DE Fans had to go through and how long we had to wait for each step.
Here is some playing around with words: Damon and Elena are meant to be together Von DESTINY, and stay together in ETERNITY; their Liebe is EPIC, and they will have that NEVER-ENDING Liebe and ABSOLUTE HAPPYNESS. Destiny – Eternity – Liebe – Epic – Never-ending – Absolute happiness. DELENA!
But for now, we have to endure Elena pretending that things are like they were at the beginning, while ignoring reality and denying the truth; but every setback makes Delena only stronger and their bond only deeper. Elena’s pretending will probably seem to work out for some time, but it can’t be kept up for too long; things can never get back to how they were, too much happened lately, and Elena really loves Damon. And Damon will also try to get back to his old self again, will also shortly seem to succeed, but he also can’t keep that up for long, because Elena already brought out the best in him. But Damon will be sulky for some time, and he has every right to be. He knows that he and Elena are meant for each other, but she didn’t choose him; and because of his throughout his existence permanently hurt self-esteem, it is all even Mehr painful for him and increases his vulnerability. He tried to be good, and was turned down; he opened up, and his herz was broken. Damon was right, and nobody listened to him; he was always still only the "bad one". And he will never push Elena (what is exactly the right way in their slowly, but also carefully emerging relationship), and he will never take advantage of her; even when her upset emotions will drive her to him, Damon will always do the right thing and turn her down (and it is also very painful for him, whenever she pushes him away, after they got closer). He will stay for Elena and do everything for her, always put her first and protect her; and Damon will put himself and his needs aside and suffer while watching Stelena.
But Elena being a vampire is good for our cause, although Elena has to concentrate on handling her transition before she can focus on dealing with her emotions; and she needs that feeling of safety that she has with Stefan even Mehr right now, while she is still upset and afraid and everything is new to her. But when she has gotten used to her new existence, her emotions will lead her to Damon, Damon is the one who will get her to find her way in her new life, and Elena’s safety also isn’t that much of an issue anymore. She is stronger and much Mehr resistant as a vampire, so that there will be less opportunities for Damon to sacrifice others to save her. That was one of Elena’s problems, although – like already explained – it shows Damon’s unselfishness, and he usually tries to save everybody, and even protects Elena’s family and Friends when she isn’t around. But Elena – like the others – should learn to LISTEN to Damon, with what lots of dangers would be avoided from the start.
But the end of a story doesn’t come in the middle of it, and it is good that the Delena uniting is still postponed, because now Stefan is much Mehr of an obstacle for the DE Liebe story than the other way around. People get Mehr and Mehr bored Von Stelena, while the desire to see Delena as a couple even increases its originally already hugeness. And Damon and Elena could shortly be together while she is a vampire, before she goes back to Stefan when there is a way to make her human again, until she will finally end up with Damon even as a human being, because he is her true and real love. But I think that – no matter what kind of being she is – Elena will stay with Stefan oder be alone until the end before finally ending up with Damon.
So, we have to support each other until then, concentrate on the beautiful DE moments (that will always be there – sometimes Mehr and sometimes less), and stay strong. We must have faith and keep up hope and believe in Delena and in our understanding of the story, that we share with close to everybody. The story still leads to the DE endgame, there is only a pause right now (there are always times with Mehr and those with less), but we predicted that and are still in how we think that the story will go. What was achieved in the Delena relationship can’t be taken from us again (even during a harder time), and all of the pain is a good sign for us. We suffer enormously now, but that will be worth the DE endgame. And it gives Damon the chance to Zeigen his unselfishness again, because he always puts Elena first and stays for her, although it is extremely painful for him.
Like the pain that Du have to endure during your life is sagte to make your soul lighter on the divine scale after your death (to let Du get closer to heaven), the pain that Damon has to bär makes him deserving Elena Mehr in the end. That can even convince the few people that still don’t see that – the fans, but also the ones responsible for the Zeigen –; so, that pain is really not bad for our cause.
Normally, the couple becomes endgame that has to endure most heartache and to overcome most obstacles (it shows the strength of a couple’s Liebe to survive whatever is thrown in its way); and the most beloved couples are the ones that always get close to getting together without actually doing so until the end, and for whom the final reunion is constantly delayed. A couple and its Fans have to earn their endgame as a repayment for all of the heartache and fear.
So, we can go through all the cheesy Stelena crap, because although it is painful, the Delena endgame will be worth bearing everything. Damon will continue proving his unselfishness, while watching SE and doing everything for them; and all of that will bring us our desired and deserved DE endgame. Then, the story will make sense, we will have the best distribution (Stelena throughout most of the show, and Delena most beautiful, always a little bit in the show, and finally really in the end), and Damon will get the reward for his enormous suffering, for the painful improvement of his character and for his extreme modesty.
Even Romeo and Juliet, THE couple of tragedy and "always close to getting a real chance without ever getting one", got married and had one whole happy night before he had to leave the town. And Damon and Elena also have to get something. Delena are a tragic couple, being kept apart Von circumstances so far; they are always so close to their happiness – and they can both only truely and restlessly be happy together –, but haven’t reached it yet. And our desire to see them together is steadily improved.
Damon has always been only Sekunde choice so far, nobody listens to him – although he is mostly right –, and he stays (for others) close to what is painful for him. He DECIDES to feel again, what is very PAINFUL for him, and he slowly becomes the best version of himself. He very often steps aside for others and doesn’t brag about doing good; he always puts Elena first – and often even others – and shows his unselfishness with that. Damon deserves true Liebe and happiness, and – like I and others already explained – that is only possible for him with Elena, because she is the only one who loves Damon for himself, she is the reason for his change, and he will always choose only her. So, the DE endgame will be the reward for Damon and for us Delena fans, because he had to suffer so extremely, and we suffered with him, while our focus was even laid on Damon’s big pain.
So, to sum it up: Damon’s SUFFERING makes him DESERVE his happiness Mehr and more, Damon’s UNSELFISHNESS proves him WORTHY over and over of being loved, all the PAIN that Damon and we DE Fans have to endure again and again, is a good SIGN for the Delena endgame.

Of course, it is hot and there is that "forbidden love"-thing, but there is SO MUCH Mehr to DE. They are always there for each other, have that close friendship and deep bond and so many other aspects of their relationship. I don’t want Delena to be reduced to the filthy and lusting part of their relationship. This is a good way to keep DE in the story, while not changing the dreieck for a while, but we will never accept the amazing and unique Delena Liebe story to be turned into only that for good. And already with Damon always putting Elena’s needs first, there is always also another aspect of the DE Liebe involved.
And the blood-sharing scene is a good example for what can be found between Delena. There is Damon’s honesty, because he right away tells Elena that blood-exchanging is personal and intimate and that Stefan wouldn’t like Damon and Elena sharing blood, and there is Damon’s unselfishness, because it hurts him to be close to Elena and to give her up again after it, but he ignores his own well-being and still tries to help her. On the other hand, there is Elena again coming for Damon for help (behind Stefan’s back), and Elena willingly sharing an intimate moment with Damon.
Because Damon is always there for Elena; he is the one that she runs to, he is the one who helps her. They depend on each other and are deeply connected, and it is not possible for them to be without the other. Elena got along well while Stefan was gone in season three. Klaus wanted to use her and Rebekah was after her, but Damon protected her. Elena tried to get Stefan back with them and fought her feelings for Damon, but she handled her everyday life. The only time that she really was in danger in that phase, was when Damon left with Katherine. Elena herself sagte that she wouldn’t know what to do without Damon with her (like she can’t even imagine a universe without Damon in the books, where there is no world for her without him [The Return: Midnight, 38]), and Damon promised to never leave her. But now, although Elena declared at the end of season three to let Damon go, she didn’t; the situation is like it was before, with Damon close to Elena and them sharing special moments and dealing with their mutual affection and attraction. Elena knows that Stefan doesn’t like her to be close to Damon, and she has to know that Damon suffers whenever he gets close to her again, but she none the less repeatedly turns to Damon, who supports her in whatever way he can, and she keeps him involved in her life. Elena still fights her feelings for Damon, but suppressing makes emotions only stronger. And as soon as Elena will get used to her new existence and get the chance to deal with her emotions, she won’t be able to escape her Liebe for Damon any longer.
There was no exclusive Delena-time so far, and Damon wasn’t first for Elena in anything yet, but we still have the best journey, that is Von far most beloved. Everybody waits for the Weiter steps in the DE relationship; very few fear those steps, but they await them none the less (perhaps, like a car driving towards them before an accident), while almost everybody longs for those steps. The viewers are on the other hand SWAMPED with "Stelena cheese", that most of us never liked and that annoys us Mehr and more, so that there is nothing to be awaited in the SE relationship – except for it to fail. But we Delena Fans Liebe and cherish the unforgettable DE moments, we keep and repeat them again and again, and we can’t wait to get to the Weiter one. But no matter if in fear oder – like we and the clear and outright majority – in cheerful expectation, everybody always waits for the Weiter moving Damon-and-Elena-scene and for the deepening of their relationship.
But we already had a slow start (and also because of that, we deserve Mehr in the end), had to wait very long for the Delena Liebe story to get really started in the TV show, but it was always worth waiting for. We enjoyed the amazing build up and the unique journey of the DE relationship and cherished every wonderful moment of it. And although it already went on for years, the Liebe story of Damon and Elena is still exciting and moving and has never Lost any of its beauty.
And "The Vampire Diaries" is mostly about Damon proving himself, while he has to undergo suffering and pain, and Elena fighting her Liebe for Damon, while Du can never escape love. The storylines of the original vampires, of the Supernatural stuff and of Elena’s Friends happen in the background, while the main focus lies on Delena. When Damon and Elena will finally be together, there can’t be something the other way around – with Stelena fighting their feelings for each other; the story would be over instead. (DE could end up in bett one time, but still not be together for some time while dealing with their emotions, before it really comes to the final Delena union; but otherwise, we would have to wait for the real end. [Although it has to be an extreme situation for Damon to give in to Elena in that way, gegeben how painful that would be for him afterwards and how selflessly he always tries not to take adventage of her. That could be something that could drive him to leave (of course, not for long) oder SE to break up oder otherwise change the situation. And Elena could definitely stay alone for some time in the show.]) Although to be fair, it has to be sagte that Stefan hasn’t had the chance to prove himself yet, he never was the one standing aside and watching the others’ happiness, while Damon can Zeigen his unselfishness again and again throughout the show, while he is always Sekunde choice, nobody (except for Elena) believes in him and he has to watch SE.
But Elena wouldn’t wake up one morning and decide not to Liebe Damon anymore and stick to Stefan for good. She already tried everything to stop loving Damon, and NOTHING worked out (she only pretends to, but never stopped). Damon and Elena did what they could, but it is just not possible for them to be without the other and not to Liebe each other. I hope though that they won’t get together too soon (while at the same time wanting them to be together so desperately); the story as well as the marketing of the Zeigen make it inevitable that Damon and Elena will become a couple at some point. But the foundation has to be set perfectly, and although I can’t imagine the DE relationship not to work out and Delena not to end up together, I guess that my fear will increase as soon as they will really get together, although I desire to see them together. Elena could confess her Liebe to Damon at some point (we already know that she loves him – and most importantly, she SHOWS repeatedly that she really does), but say that it doesn’t make a difference and that she didn’t want to complicate things so that she didn’t tell him before. That would be a nice moment for us, but then, there definitely has to be another Liebe confession later, when Elena will finally realize that she wants to be with Damon. People want what they don’t have, and an official Delena relationship hasn’t been there so far, but the story is building up to it perfectly.
We DE Fans are always so close to get what we so desperately desire, but we still don’t have it. Everything leads to the fulfillment of our biggest wish, but our fears are willingly kept alive. But the waiting and the delaying is what really makes the Delena Liebe story so epic and legendary. We follow their story mainly because of that, while their relationship is slowly, but carefully and in detail deepened, so that an everlasting Liebe is created.
Stefan could die at some point, and Elena has to prove to Damon that she doesn’t only want to be with him because his younger brother isn’t around anymore, but that she really loves Damon; but I doubt that, because I think that all three main characters will be kept until the end.
So, what we Delena Fans can do, is to keep on voting, collecting clicks etc. and speaking up to make it known that we are enormously annoyed Von all of the SE crap, but not bothered, because the story still leads to the DE endgame and because we still believe in Delena; that we can never wait for Mehr about DE, but enjoy their journey very much; that we will NEVER give up on Delena and have very good reasons for that. We have to stick together and make our thoughts and understanding known (while we still have the clear and outright majority in Umfrage about what we WANT, we nowadays also have to fight the pessimists of our fanbase in Umfrage about what we THINK; and some DE Fans even quit because they can’t bär the pain anymore). We have to use and point out our overwhelming majority and spread our convincing reasons; that is our duty as Delena shippers.
I want Damon and Elena to be endgame, and although I would like to see something of their relationship, I prefer them ending up together to watching them being together. I know that we Fans are real and that it is only a story, but I take Damon as an example and Zeigen my unselfishness in accepting to only see them get together at the end, as long as they will have a happy future after that. I want Damon and Elena to live happily ever after, because I need that justice with everything leading there and after everything that they and we DE Fans had to go through and how long we had to wait for each step.
Here is some playing around with words: Damon and Elena are meant to be together Von DESTINY, and stay together in ETERNITY; their Liebe is EPIC, and they will have that NEVER-ENDING Liebe and ABSOLUTE HAPPYNESS. Destiny – Eternity – Liebe – Epic – Never-ending – Absolute happiness. DELENA!
But for now, we have to endure Elena pretending that things are like they were at the beginning, while ignoring reality and denying the truth; but every setback makes Delena only stronger and their bond only deeper. Elena’s pretending will probably seem to work out for some time, but it can’t be kept up for too long; things can never get back to how they were, too much happened lately, and Elena really loves Damon. But Elena first has to deal with her new existence and things have to settle down, before there will be big changes. And Damon will also try to get back to his old self again, will also shortly seem to succeed, but he also can’t keep that up for long, because Elena already brought out the best in him. But Damon will be sulky for some time, and he has every right to be. He knows that he and Elena are meant for each other, but she didn’t choose him; and because of his throughout his existence permanently hurt self-esteem, it is all even Mehr painful for him and increases his vulnerability. He tried to be good, and was turned down; he opened up, and his herz was broken. Damon was right, and nobody listened to him; he was always still only the "bad one". And he will never push Elena (what is exactly the right way in their slowly, but also carefully emerging relationship), and he will never take advantage of her; even when her upset emotions will drive her to him, Damon will always do the right thing and turn her down (and it is also very painful for him, whenever she pushes him away, after they got closer). He will stay for Elena and do everything for her, always put her first and protect her; and Damon will put himself and his needs aside and suffer while watching Stelena.
But Elena being a vampire is good for our cause, although Elena has to concentrate on handling her transition before she can focus on dealing with her emotions; and she needs that feeling of safety that she has with Stefan even Mehr right now, while she is still upset and afraid and everything is new to her. But when she has gotten used to her new existence, her emotions will lead her to Damon, Damon is the one who will get her to find her way in her new life, and Elena’s safety also isn’t that much of an issue anymore. She is stronger and much Mehr resistant as a vampire, so that there will be less opportunities for Damon to sacrifice others to save her. That was one of Elena’s problems, although – like already explained – it shows Damon’s unselfishness, and he usually tries to save everybody, and even protects Elena’s family and Friends when she isn’t around. But Elena – like the others – should learn to LISTEN to Damon, with what lots of dangers would be avoided from the start.
But the end of a story doesn’t come in the middle of it, and it is good that the Delena uniting is still postponed, because now Stefan is much Mehr of an obstacle for the DE Liebe story than the other way around. People get Mehr and Mehr bored Von Stelena, while the desire to see Delena as a couple even increases its originally already hugeness. And Damon and Elena could shortly be together while she is a vampire, before she goes back to Stefan when there is a way to make her human again, until she will finally end up with Damon even as a human being, because he is her true and real love. But I think that – no matter what kind of being she is – Elena will stay with Stefan oder be alone until the end before finally ending up with Damon.
So, we have to support each other until then, concentrate on the beautiful DE moments (that will always be there – sometimes Mehr and sometimes less), and stay strong. We must have faith and keep up hope and believe in Delena and in our understanding of the story, that we share with close to everybody. The story still leads to the DE endgame, there is only a pause right now (there are always times with Mehr and those with less), but we predicted that and are still in how we think that the story will go. What was achieved in the Delena relationship can’t be taken from us again (even during a harder time), and all of the pain is a good sign for us. We suffer enormously now, but that will be worth the DE endgame. And it gives Damon the chance to Zeigen his unselfishness again, because he always puts Elena first and stays for her, although it is extremely painful for him.
Like the pain that Du have to endure during your life is sagte to make your soul lighter on the divine scale after your death (to let Du get closer to heaven), the pain that Damon has to bär makes him deserving Elena Mehr in the end. That can even convince the few people that still don’t see that – the fans, but also the ones responsible for the Zeigen –; so, that pain is really not bad for our cause.
Normally, the couple becomes endgame that has to endure most heartache and to overcome most obstacles (it shows the strength of a couple’s Liebe to survive whatever is thrown in its way); and the most beloved couples are the ones that always get close to getting together without actually doing so until the end, and for whom the final reunion is constantly delayed. A couple and its Fans have to earn their endgame as a repayment for all of the heartache and fear.
So, we can go through all the cheesy Stelena crap, because although it is painful, the Delena endgame will be worth bearing everything. Damon will continue proving his unselfishness, while watching SE and doing everything for them; and all of that will bring us our desired and deserved DE endgame. Then, the story will make sense, we will have the best distribution (Stelena throughout most of the show, and Delena most beautiful, always a little bit in the show, and finally really in the end), and Damon will get the reward for his enormous suffering, for the painful improvement of his character and for his extreme modesty.
Even Romeo and Juliet, THE couple of tragedy and "always close to getting a real chance without ever getting one", got married and had one whole happy night before he had to leave the town. And Damon and Elena also have to get something. Delena are a tragic couple, being kept apart Von circumstances so far; they are always so close to their happiness – and they can both only truely and restlessly be happy together –, but haven’t reached it yet. And our desire to see them together is steadily improved.
Damon has always been only Sekunde choice so far, nobody listens to him – although he is mostly right –, and he stays (for others) close to what is painful for him. He DECIDES to feel again, what is very PAINFUL for him, and he slowly becomes the best version of himself. He very often steps aside for others and doesn’t brag about doing good; he always puts Elena first – and often even others – and shows his unselfishness with that. Damon deserves true Liebe and happiness, and – like I and others already explained – that is only possible for him with Elena, because she is the only one who loves Damon for himself, she is the reason for his change, and he will always choose only her. So, the DE endgame will be the reward for Damon and for us Delena fans, because he had to suffer so extremely, and we suffered with him, while our focus was even laid on Damon’s big pain.
So, to sum it up: Damon’s SUFFERING makes him DESERVE his happiness Mehr and more, Damon’s UNSELFISHNESS proves him WORTHY over and over of being loved, all the PAIN that Damon and we DE Fans have to endure again and again, is a good SIGN for the Delena endgame.
