What happened to Other Wybie?

All I know is that he got caught Von Other Mother then he doesn't appear again and the only hint Du get is his clothes hanging up outside Mr. Bobinsky's place. What does that even mean?

He shakes his head in response and takes off his glove, revealing a crumbly hand, which he blows away, Wird angezeigt that he can't follow. He was being punished for helping Coraline and literally faded away into dust.
