Ahh Christmas. The tree, the stockings, the mistletoe and - of course - the holiday Fernsehen programming.

Some of my fondest Weihnachten memories were spent in front a of Fernsehen watching such classics as the animated Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer oder one of the myriad versions of Dickens' 'A Weihnachten Carol'.

So without further ado, I am presenting Du with my big, big Liste of holiday specials. I've tried to categorize the Liste into subsections to make it a little Mehr bearable and consumable. The...

Back when I was a kid watching Weihnachten specials on TV, Mrs. Claus was invariably portrayed as a sweet but dowdy older woman of slightly plump stature. She could cook a mean pie and reminded Du of your Grandma. Of course, we loved her and so did Santa.

But did Du ever wonder what Mrs. Claus might have looked like when she was younger? I mean, I assume she must've be smokin' (natch).

So why is it that so many of the classic holiday programs Zeigen us a Santa Claus surrounded Von androgynous little elves and a matronly Mrs. Claus? I mean, it's cold up at the North Pole. Surely Santa isn't adverse...

Okay, first of all, this isn't what u might think. And Du might've played it before.I'm gonna get to the point.
Dirty Weihnachten is a game Du and your family can play on Christmas.Everyone brings a mystery gift(it can be funny oder normal). You draw numbers out of a bowl, cup,or hat, something like that. The person with the lowest number goes first.TRhey pick a present, and unwrap it.That is what they keep.BUT,someone with a higher number can steal it,then the person it was stolen from gets another present.Youkeep going until everyone has a present.
My family plays it in different groups;Adults, teens, and little kids.Above is the way the teens and adults play.
The kids play in a different way. They get in a circle, and go around grabbing presents until they are all gone.No one can steal anything.
It's a really fun game, and I say Du and your family should try it.

Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.
Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.
Since I had done with my favourite Weihnachten films, now it's the famous Oratorios composed Von famous classical composers.

1) The Messiah Von George Frederick Handel

This oratorio premiered in Dublin, Ireland and it's the first oratorio to be performed in English. Which was unusual at that time.

2) Alexander's Feast Von George Frederick Handel

Although this oratorio is link to Alexander the Great, it's Musik sounds very Weihnachten oriented and it is highly recommend for both Weihnachten and Handel Fans alike!

3) St. John's Passion Von Johann Sebastian Bach

It's dramatic Musik will not only celebrate...

Hi guys, I know that this Artikel is pretty early, but I thought that I write about why I Liebe Weihnachten and how I celebrate it here in Malaysia.

Every year, my church (I'm not baptized yet, mind you) would organised a special occasion. But the common one is definitely caroling, the location is normally depends because we need to get the approval from the management team themselves.
On Weihnachten Eve, we would have a night service accompanied Von abendessen prior to the service. A few days earlier, the youths would decorate the church with the birth of Jesus and setting up the Weihnachten tree....

Is the word "Xmas" a result of the commercialization of Christmas?
Is the word "Xmas" a result of the commercialization of Christmas?
Every holiday season, newspapers, malls and Fernsehen commercials urge Du to take advantage of "Xmas sales and specials." The word "Xmas" is easier to use in advertisements, and as a result, it's become associated with the commercialization of Christmas. But some Christians take offense to
the word "Xmas" and have called for the abolishment of this truncated version of the word "Christmas." So why is it so controversial, and where did it originate?

For some, Xmas is a dreaded four-letter word that reemerges every holiday season. The phrase is literally and symbolically distasteful, according...

For all the people who want a happy Artikel about Christmas, I'm sorry to let Du down, and maybe I'm a little pessimistic but now I'm getting older this is how I think about Christmas:

Five years Vor (I was nine) I was sitting in my aunts car on Weihnachten Eve, and we were talking about a tv Zeigen in Holland called 'all Du need is love'
I don't know if Du know, oder have the Zeigen in America but the tv Zeigen is about people who get unexpected visits from people that they love, and then, for one night, they can forget all their problems and enjoy Chrismas Eve together. I thought that it was a silly...

The shepherds went their hasty way,
And found the lowly stable-shed
Where the Virgin-mother lay:
And now they checked their eager tread,
For to the Babe that at her bosom clung,
A mother song the Virgin-mother sung.

They told her how a glorious light,
Streaming from a heavenly throng
Around them shone, suspending night!
While sweeter than a mother's song,
Blest Engel hearlded the Saviour's birth
Glory to God on high! and Peace on Earth.

Would Du pick this over something else?

While not necessarily limited to the Weihnachten holiday, White elefant Gift Exchanges are beliebt at this time of Jahr for clubs, associations, small groups, churches and offices around the United States. It is often a Mehr affordable (and, possibly, fun) alternative to buying presents for everyone in the group. But what is a White elefant Gift Exchange?

The history
The story - almost certainly apocryphal - goes like this: in pre-colonial India, the rajahs would give gifts to their vassals as tokens of their esteem. Chief among these was the elephant. The elephant...

I really think Weihnachten is a magic time of the year! Even though I am starting to grow up (I am sixteen), I always become a little child again when Weihnachten is near, and go playing in the snow, waiting for Santa (Dad) with my little, and big, cousin, baking, meeting near and dear and just enjoy the moment and life.
I mean, do Du really do that in the same way any other time of the year? Because I dont think so...
And the Weihnachten music- wonderful! :)
I think people in general becomes nicer when Christmas, and for a season to have the power to make people nicer- that I call pure magic!!! :D

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say Merry Cristmas to all of Du fanpoppers out there.

If Du believe in god oder Du don't, it is always a special Tag for families and Friends to Zeigen how they really feel about one another, either this being Essen fights, real fights oder praying for the less fortunate, spend it as a way that is special to you.

Living in Australia, i have always had sweaty, hot christmas'. Weihnachten morning spent with my mum and in the afternoon, it is spent with my dad. This is all that i have basically known, i am just grateful that i get to spend one of my most favourite days of the Jahr with my whole family.

But remember that Weihnachten is not just about the presents oder the food, although it is the best part lol, it is about family, Friends and santa.

So spread the joy and Liebe that this season brings, spread it to everyone that Du know and maybe even to those that Du don't. Have a great Weihnachten :)

Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Weihnachten and simply "Santa", is a figure with legendary, mythical, historical and folkloric origins who, in many western cultures, is sagte to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of Weihnachten Eve, December 24. The modern figure was derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, which, in turn, may have part of its basis in hagiographical tales concerning the historical figure of gift giver Saint Nicholas. A nearly identical story is attributed Von Greek and Byzantine folklore to Basil of Caesarea....

Since we're all still in Weihnachten mood, here is my comparison for both the 1966 animated short with its live action film made in 2000.

1966 Animated Short

This animated short that started it all! I Liebe the vibrant and how colourful this animated cartoon, it's whimsical Animation style will make Du Liebe this cartoon and Dr. Seuss, his artwork fascinates people even in today's generation, the theme song 'You're Mean One, Mr. Grinch!' has even been covered in the TV series, 'Glee' that I could not get it out of my head after listening to it recently.

I Liebe Christmas, it is one of my Favorit holidays ever. Even though it was Mehr exciting when I was a child oder even a teenager. But I grew up and my sister who is 7 years younger than me, she's 25, I don't see her as much, even on holidays as she lives with her boyfriend of a year. Then there is the fact that my nana on my mom's side always put on the best Christmases, Weihnachten was also her Favorit holiday, but sadly she passed away 4 years ago, then with my Aunt and Uncle going to either New York to have Christmas...
