Die Schöne und das Biest Frage

How would Belle's relationship with Gaston have developed if he had saved her from the Beast?

This is a Frage that I've considered for a while. So what if Gaston didn't throw Maurice out of the tavern that night but instead, went with him to the Beast's schloss and saved Belle? Surely, she would have been grateful but would she also soften towards him and encourage a better relationship between them? After all, when the Beast saved her from the wolves, she was Mehr receptive towards him and look how that panned out.

To be clear, I'm not suggesting that Gaston's attitude would change as the Beast's did. I believe he would still be as arrogant as ever, if not Mehr so. However, I do believe that Belle may have had a slight change of herz towards Gaston if he had saved her on that fateful night.

I think Belle would probably say, "Thanks, but no thanks." I think she'd want to stay-part of the beastly bargain, after all, and since she smelled a mystery, she'd want to stay to find and help out, if possible. Plus, she's being treated fairly well for her situation. She'd tell him she willingly got herself into this, and that she can handle it-though she promises to reward him with "something," as in, royal money, if Gaston leaves to care for Maurice.

I do think she would be Mehr tolerant of him, definitely thankful and certainly willing to be his friend, but she would stop there. She did specifically say, "He's not for me." He'd need a complete personality makeover to even come close to suitor material for her.
