Marshall is his best and oldest friend. Barney is someone who gets him into wierd and funny situations. He sometimes may be a really good friend, but if Ted will ever marry some of those guys, it would definitely be Marshall =D

i think barney loves him more because marshall has lily and barney doesn't have anybody really colse to him exept the 4 of them and i think he really does love ted as a best best friend...

I think both of them really love Ted but this is how I kind of pictured it: out of the two of them Marshall is like a young father figure in Ted's life but then again Barney is the adoring younger brother. So in that way they are even, both love him like family... then you take into account that Marshall has Lily and Barney...well, he doesn't really have as much so Ted will always mean the world to him.So I really think out of the two, probably Barney.

Marshall has Lily,whereas for Barney I think Ted is his favorite person.
