The table repair I bet is the chandelier falling on the round table that we saw on the previews. And the serving girl comment is obvious. Am very curious about the rest.

Sounds like Uther is going to be causing some mayhem. Can not say I am stunned about his negative feelings of having Gwen as queen. Hell he banished her when Arthur confessed his love for Gwen. I am fan of the actor, so I am happy to see him on screen again, but I have never been a fan of Uther. Him tormenting Gwen is going to continue my dislike of the man.

Don't be too sure about that. Sigh. This is what Sandi from spoiler tv had to say about episode 3 of Merlin.

"This is very much a Merlin and Arthur episode, they are in just about every scene together and I love how their companionship is really coming together this season so far "

After seeing the above, a couple people and I asked him about Arwen scenes, haven't seen his response yet. I will be extremely pissed if we finally have Arthur and Gwen under the same roof for a prolong period of time, and we don't get Arwen married scenes.

Here's hoping we do get some Arwen scenes this episode. My Arwen shipping heart needs some new scenes pronto.

You will get some Arwen this week Lucerne, I am 99.9% sure of it. Are you listening? Remember I said calm your girls about last week? Well this week there is all kinds of goings on here especially re Uther, Arthur and Guinevere. It will not be a lot of Arwen, but there most certainly will be. Keep in mind, there is quite a bit of Arwen for the balance of the series, they need to get a certain group, the same group that is retarding the growth of Arthur and Merlin respectively, molified first then you get your ARWEN, the actual selling platter of the series.

hmmm
I won't count on anything. We were saying all those assurances about Arwen last week and well. Agree with Stacey-- I'll just say, because of the context, that is, the story line there will be SOMETHING, but probably not much. No doubt we can expect because of lines such as the one about the serving girl that the Arwen situation will surface again and from that there would need to be some addressing of their relationship, so we honestly should see them bringing up the marriage and Uther's contesting it will be a good thing with respect to the story line. Arwen will be at least a part of the action, but a sweet loving scene? I'm going to be watching the teasers before I call that one.

Let them have their Arthur/Merlin episode again. Whether it works better than it has so far remains to be seen. All I know is Gwen is very much a part of the action and if you're reading the various reviews being posted everywhere, you will see that our girl is scoring high on almost all of them and those without an agenda are giving extremely good reports on the character. In fact, Guinevere as Queen is now collecting quite a fanbase, much more than the "serving girl" did and much more than when her only claim to fame was as the woman Arthur loved.

Ok, San. That first one is very intriguing. No doubt someone said that about Arthur.Could be either Merlin or Gwen who says it? He's no doubt feeling emotional and depressed, hence the calling of Uther. Hmmm.

So Sandi says she loves how their companionship is coming together this season. I did not get the same from the first two epis but let me see what we think after this one...

I didn't like the A/M relationship in the first two episodes of this series eitherso I'm going to take what Sandi says with a grain of salt. I do definetly think that we'll be getting some Arwen scenes, especially after that teaser about the servant girl becoming queen, but I'm not holding my breath for a lot of Arwen. I've been burned once too many times thinking that an episode is going to focus on Arwen and then it doesn't. Hopefully, we'll get those OT3 teamwork moments that they promised us months ago. Haven' forgotten how they said that there was going to be lots of interactions between Arthur, Merlin and Gwen so they better deliver on that.

Sandi responded to a couple of the inquiries

It does seem that they are concentrating more on Merlin and Arthur's relationship again in this episode. It's pretty obvious that Arwen are very much in love and have a lot of concern and respect for each other, no matter what they face, in this episode thou.

There is one scene I can think of off the top of my head, she doesn't say much in it but Arthur's love for her is very obvious in it.

I love ASH and I think he is a brilliant actor, but I still am firm in my belief that the writers should not have wasted the episode to bring back Uther and open up a dozen wounds. The thing is, while it'll be interesting to see Uther's reactions to Guinevere, Merlin, and even Mordred, it would have strengthened the story-line and got it moving forward had Arthur decided to bring his mother back. Not only would it be a milestone in Arthur's attitude towards magic once he finally learns the truth, but I'd really like to see Arthur's reaction when he realizes that Morgause actually presented him with the truth. Also, I'd love to see a really precious moment between Ygraine and Guinevere. I think that would've been amazing.

Good points, Issie. Excellent. But see, unfortunately, it would not fit in as well with the Arthur/Merlin relationship thingy which is the main thing for them, at least for now.

Yeah, but if they keep up with all the Arthur/Merlin business, they are going to destroy Merlin's character. They've basically shredded any bit of his own story-line. He is, in fact, a plot device. It's like Melly said, this show should be called Arthur because it's all about Arthur's story-lines and Merlin just gets injected in there because of the whole "destiny" thing.

You know what my biggest issue with all of this is? That the show isn't going anywhere. The multi-stranded story-lines that were beginning to form in the two-parter were cut short by a half-baked ending and then we're done. That story-line is finished so let's move on to interject this episode that will not move the story-line anywhere. It's not very well thought out at all and Bradley's acting was the episode's saving grace, in my opinion. Seriously, if they don't pick up next episode, I'm going to lose any shred of anticipation I had for this season. I get that in thinking this is the last season, they want to choke us down with any story-line that'll give them excuse to place heavy amounts of screentime on Arthur and Merlin. Honestly, I dearly hope this is the last season. The rate the show is going, there's absolutely no way they can pull off more seasons. So done right now.
