Thank's for sharing the link famfan - this is the only part of the article that really caught my attention:

When the series returns later this year, it will open with a two-parter and follow the show's tradition of jumping forward in time. "All of the character's will have moved on a lot" explains Capp "and we will see that Gwen is now the Queen of Camelot, and has a very different role than she's had in previous seasons. When we start Season Five, I think everyone will be surprised where all the characters are." Now that the former maid has fulfilled Morgana's visions of becoming royalty despite several thwarted attempts to prevent it, Gwen will play a more prominent role as Arthur's confidant.

What do you guys think about the time-jump? I'm not overly surprised but i'm still anxious as to what path Arthur/Gwen will go down this year, i'm hoping that because there is a time jump we will get an even more mature relationship between the two and essentially as the audience is maturing as well as the time slot, they will get much more screen time together. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of Arthur/Gwen screen-time during the first half of season 4 but this article adds a little to my hope that now Gwen is Queen, this season could be pretty good on the Arthur/Gwen front. Only time will tell ....

Personally, I really liked what they said about the bromance and the fact that they brought up the friendship between Gwen and Merlin and the bond there. I liked this statement: "I hope it will make a greater dynamic; three often shakes it up and makes it richer..." I'm liking that. I'm also liking the fact that they're making a point of talking about Merlin and that he has no actual "romance" other than Freya. Read what they're saying carefully, guys. I think there is a message there. And I like it.

Oh. And did you check out the "Noble House of DuBois?"

Boo, time jump. That had better not mean the convenient dispensing of the bracelet reveal. I do like hearing that Gwen will play a more prominent role, that is as it should be.

And: "Gwen is now the Queen of Camelot, and has a very different role than she's had in previous seasons" Well, duh, she's the queen not a servant.

Not a fan of another time jump, but expected it. Time jump between series appears to be the norm for this show. The article gives me hope that Gwen and Arthur's relationship, and Gwen individually will be front and center and not pushed to the side/ ignored. Also liked the fact it sounded like we will get some good Merlin/Gwen/ Arthur interaction. Nothing said about Merlin magic reveal, or whether Merlin is still a servant at start of S5, but not surprised they did not discuss that. I might be in the minority, but I have no desire for Modred's return since I fear it might lead to the death of Arthur.

Finally, IMO the show should end with Arthur, Gwen and Merlin alive and well, as Camelot enters its golden age ruled by A&G and backed by their trusted friend and advisor, the great warlock Merlin. Also hoping for a few Pendragon babies to be running around. I Have no desire to see the death of either one of these beloved characters. Yes, I want a happy ever after fairytale ending. I am one of those people. :-)

I was pleasantly surprised with what the producers said. I really hope they resolve the bracelet situation, but I am not holding my breath. What I really liked was the bromance part, yes all three can be friends, it worked for JR Rowling. It definitely seems like someone got the memo. I'm keep my fingers crossed!

Yes, in all my snarkiness I did not miss the fact that it seems that they're finally treating our trio as a trio. *gasp!* People CAN have romantic and platonic relationships and they CAN intermingle! Who'd've thunk it!

The show is based on their younger years and so, should end with all the characters alive, as the death of Arthur does not occur till his middle age after Albion has been united and Arthur has fathered children, if they go by the Welsh version of the legend. If I am correct Arthur is only 24 or 25 years old at this time, he was made crown prince in episode 2 at the age of 21. I would hate to see them end this series with Arthurs death.

meh
I agree, Lucerne - I fear that the return of Mordred would result in Arthur's death! However, we know from legend that he doesn't die until old age, so it will be interesting to see how they play this one out. Also, I'm glad that they said Gwen will have a more prominent role, coz I was worried she would get pushed to the side. Hopefully this means more Arwen and OT3 scenes...yay!

THEY CANNOT KILL ARTHUR!

I agree with Laila, they should leave them on top of the world, in their glory.

I'll believe it when I see it because the producers words rarely play out on screen.
