lol ive always thought of dumbledore as just a cool character in a great book... why does she have to bring sexual orientation into it?? it shoulnt matter what orientation he is..because its unecessary and isnt even part of the plot! that was stupid jk rowling.

I think it was really clever of JK because it still has people talking about Harry POtter even after Deathly Hallows has been released for a while! Plus you know people are going to be re-reading or maybe reading the books for the first time beacuse of this, so I think the announcement was a smart move! I also do think it's relevant to bring sexual orientation into it - afterall, none one said it was wrong that Harry, Ron or Hermione's sexual orientation was obviously a big part of the book? Dumbledore's sexuality allows people to read different levels into is character and certaintly made alot of things clearer to me about what we found out in Deathly Hallows.

I agree with slytherin360, why did she have to bring orientation into it.. it doesn't matter.
I mean, it was a good way to get media attention, but I resent her for it because that's not what it should be about.

I didn't get it immediatly, though... Then I awoke one morning thinking "Holy shit! He's totally got the hots for Grindelwald!" and reread the entire book, only to be proved right^^. Pretty much in love with the idea, too...

Yeah, I knew he was gay. But that doesn't change my opinion of him. He is amazing, wise, funny and completely awesome! It doesn't matter if he's gay, and there's nothing wrong with being gay. For those of you who have a problem with it, you can shut up. When Joanne revealed he's gay, that was a smart move because it adds more depth to the character. Dumbledore is gay, and Dumbledore is freaking amazing!
