That iLoveLatte person is soooo awesome!

At first I really liked Richard Harris, becuase he really looked like the stereotypical wizard, some kind of a Merlin-like persona, but now that we know about Dumbledore's dark past, I actually think Michael Gambon fits better, he gives him that dark, anxious touch.

I like both!!! Both are/were some fine actors ;) Harry Potter fans should be fair with Michael Gambon. I was sad, when Richard Harris died, but Gambon is doing a good job... He acts just differently than Harris!

When i first started the books, i had already seen the first 2 movies...so all the actors from those were implanted into me as I read through the books...my favorite characters were Dumbledore/Hagrid, and I felt sort of robbed of Dumbledore...To me, Richard Harris IS EXACTLY what Dumbledore is

I think both are great. Michael Gambon is more than good. just because he wasn't dumbledore from the first place, it's hard to change previous thoughts. but for me, he's awesome and looks like as a more powerful dumbledore than Richard Harris

I love them both just Richard was more calm like Dumbledore is in the books!

Richard had the right personality but he was too frail and looked almost ill in some scenes (he was in real life, I think).
Michael doesn't have the right personality traits, but gives off the same energy as a powerful wizard should.
Hard to choose. :)

I love them both, but I can't see Richard Harris act so "serious" that Michael Gambon plays him. The later books/films is more serious with more death and Voldemort and all that stuff.

I will always like the original one better.

1and2 showed how wise and humble dumbldore was. but 3-7 showed his seriusness and power. i cant choose

He seems so old in the first two. He seems alot more like the Dumbledore from the books in 3-6.

Michael was too aggressive at times, like in GoF when he asked Harry if he'd put his name in the goblet. Very unlike Dumbledore. He got a lot better in the sixth film, however.

Richard Harris was perfect. It would have been interesting to see if he could have mustered the strength for the fight against Voldemort, he did seem a bit frail. I loved him, though.

I love both maybe Richard Harris a bit more but to be honest I don't think he could have done all the fighting that Dumbledore had to do

Richard Harris really fits the more light-hearted Harry Potter films. He looks like a storybook wise wizard. Since he died they had to replace him. I prefer Michael Gambon's Dumbledore because he has more dimensions to him and he looks like someone who has been shaped by life more.
