Actually the Filme probably would've gotten as much hate if the Wölfe were fattened up and there were no puppies. Making the Wölfe look Mehr like Wölfe just gives everyone an excuse to say that "they look fat", plus anybody who wanted a sequel in the first place wanted it to be focused around the kids.
