I growled and did a belly flop onto my bed. I didn’t know what was wrong with me. No matter how much I told myself that they wouldn’t get to me, they did. Somehow, and it was tearing me apart from the inside out. Why? They didn’t even say much, and I was already feeling super guilty.
A gentle knock on the door sent me snapping up. Colin peered through the crack of the door. “Bella, I’m sorry.” He whispered. I ran over to him without a word and he opened the door and let me embrace him in a hug. Before I knew it, tears were flowing freely from my eyes. “Colin James Anderson, what’s wrong with me?” I mumbled out into his chest. He didn’t give the answer I was expecting, “Everything.” He said. I looked up at him, my vision still blurred from the tears. “But that’s why I Liebe you.” He smiled and looked into my eyes. “Everything is wrong with Du too.” I managed to joke out. Suddenly, Colin put his arms around my waist and pulled me in. I didn’t resist, and got up on my tiptoes to let him KISS me gently on the lips. Slowly, I had to pull away for air. “Why do I feel like I made the wrong choice, joining up with Heather? It wasn’t me to do that… Why did I?” I asked. He gave it a minute’s thought, then slowly answered, “Because Du didn’t have any other choice. Du knew Du were going to be transferred sooner oder later.” He smiled again at me, and I gently and slowly smiled back.


After a few hours of talking and “other stuff” with Colin, Colin slowly awakened me and rubbed my back with one bare hand. He yawned and looked at his watch with his other hand. “Merc,” I could feel him shaking my gently. I groaned, to tired to talk oder even open my eyes. “Merc, get up.” He said. Using as much strength as I couch, I mumbled out a slow, “Baby, I’m tired.”
“You have that conference, remember?”
“I don’t want to go!”
“You have to, it’s your turn.”
I groaned dramatically, and rolled off of my bed. Staggering over to my dresser, I started to fumble around in my dresser for my olive colored jacke while Colin slipped his hemd, shirt back on. Finally, I pulled out a freshly folded jacke and slipped it on, then Colin handed me my utility gürtel and the small leather bag containing the device we had stolen only a few days ago. “Why is it my turn again?” I asked, still half asleep. “Because Heather went last time, Clint the time before that, and they both agree I don’t do well during that kind of thing.” He smirked. I sighed and began to brush out my messy hair and placed it into a high ponytail like I have begun to become accustomed to.






I hated when it was my turn. So here I was, sitting at a tabelle across from Sportsmaster, Killer Frost, and Joker. This was probably one of the most awkward times in my life. The leather bag had been placed relatively close to me on the table, glowing a dim blue from something Colin had put on it. “What’s with the light show?” Sportsmaster grunted. “Here’s a hint, Du touch it, and you’ll vaporize.” I smirked, then scooped the bag up and held it in my hand. “Hey! No fair! How come Du get to hold it!?” Joker whined. I smirked again, “I’m immune.” The 3 of them gave me suspicious looks, but I just stuck my tongue out and gloated. Finally after a few Minuten of silence and Mehr awkwardness, I finally began to start the meeting, “Starting bid?” I asked. Killer Frost started, “$500 grand.” Then Sportsmaster butted in after her, “A million.” Joker jumped up, “$5 million!” He declared, which received a death glare from Killer Frost, “$10 million.” She sneered. Suddenly, a dark figure emerged from the darkest corner of the small room we were in, “Twenty million.” Oh. My. God. That wasn’t who I was expecting.
