Proven part III
The silence was a thick presence in the air, one that was suffocating me. Nic broke it.
"Where have Du been?" he asked.
"Around," I said, "I've been trying to keep low since Cadmus."
"Did Du get the Weapon?" Alek asked eagerly, "Do Du have it with Du know?" He looked at my backpack as if he actually expected I was lugging it around. I thought over my words carefully before answering.
"The Weapon is in a secure location," I said. Not a lie, just not the full truth.
"A secure location?" Jasper repeated. I nodded, then noticed the flashing screen of the laptop out of the corner of my eye.
"What were Du doing?" I said, striding over to the computer. Alek sat in the chair and I leaned on the back of it.
A document was pulled up on one half of the screen. As Alek typed, Mehr popped up while others disappeared. The other half of the screen was divided again. The lower and upper halves both showed a hallway; the same one only from different angles. The view changed again and again, Wird angezeigt corridors, lab rooms, and offices. I recognized them.
"Just cleaning up the mess Du made," Jasper sagte from behind me. I whirled around about to contradict him, but he held up a hand in defense.
"I know it's not your fault that the operation went soth," he said. "But we still have to get rid of the evidence. We're erasing the security footage and deleting reports."
I nodded before turning back to the screens. "Almost done," Alek reported.
"Why did Du need to be here to do that?" I asked.
"After Du disappeared," Jasper said, "we called Du and searched the footage. All we could find were a few glimpses of Du getting in, getting out, and then the whole building erupting in chaos." "That's my girl," Nic cut in, "ghosting and disapearing."
"When Du didn't answer our calls," Jasper continued, "we figured Du had been caught. But we decided to wait here until in case Du had some how escaped."
I nodded. Since my bedroom had techniquely been our current HQ, they all had access to the apartment. I couldn't help but compare Mt. Justice and my small room. Seeing that I wasn't needed, I went out into the hall. The others didn't notice as they argued over how far back to erase the footage.
I stopped in the küche and grabbed a glass of orange juice, then went to the window.
The scene had only changed slightly. Mehr people were out; restaurants began to open. I watched as a group of school kids ran down the street. Their uniforms matched my own.
"What's up, Aryess?" I didn't turn as Nic came up behind me.
"Nothing," I said.
"Is that why Du changed the subject?" I tried to ignore him, instead watching Gotham City come to life.
"Where have Du been, kiddo?" I turned to remind him that he was only a Jahr and a half older than me, but forgot my snide Kommentar when I realized how close we were. For a moment I was trapped in the 20,000 leages that made up his deep blue eyes.
"I better get to school," I said. I walked back to the hallway and stopped outside my brother's door. I took a breath and touched the Angel – Jäger der Finsternis charm around my neck before going in.
Daemian's room was simpler than mine. A bett bordered one wall, a nightstand Weiter to it, a dresser, and a desk. It lacked the bright color scheme of mine, and it was much Mehr scholarly. I ran my fingers over the mahogany of the desk, leaving a trail through the dust.
Even before Daemian's disappearance, he hadn't been Home much, and even then he almost never sat at his desk. He often came Home late, especially over the last year. I hadn't known anything about the Weapon, though from the evidence I had found his office at Cadmus, that was what he had been spending so many hours working on.
I rubbed the mist from my eyes, trying to keep the thought that I would never see my brother again from my mind. To distract myself, I crouched Weiter to the bett and brushed my hand under the bett until my fingers struck something hard. Grappling for the edge, I slid out a small jewelry box.
An elegant Design of intertwining Blumen was etched into the oak wood, highlighted Von Gold paint. The sides of it were charred slightly. I ran a land over the familiar lines, stopping at the brass padlock. This is what I had come for.
"I'll give Du a ride," Alek said, leaning in the doorway. I took the case off the kissen on the bett and wrapped the box in it. Then I stuffed it in my backpack.
"I can walk," I said, zipping my pack. As I got up to leave, Alek moved to block the opening. "Are Du going to make me beat Du up again?" I asked. I sighed when he didn't budge. "You don't even have a license."
Alek pulled out his wallet and handed me a card. Plain as Tag was his full name, his height, and his photo. The birthday on the license stated that he was almost 17.
"Impressive," I said, handing him back his I.D. "But it doesn't change my mind."
"You're so stubborn," he said, moving aside, but his eyes were full of longing and hope. I sighed. He would never force me to go, which only made it worse. He was Nic's opposite.
"Ok," I said, trying to sound defeated, "let's go before I'm late. Where'd Du park the car?"
The michevious gleam in Alek's eye made me Frage my decision.

Bruce’s POV

It’s been two weeks since Dick ran away. Two weeks, and I can’t find a trace of him. He’s nowhere in Gotham, and the rest of the League sagte they haven’t seen him in their cities either, but then again, Dick would know that I would have the League searching their cities for him. He would stay away from those cities, but where is he?

“Think Bruce.”

“Sir?” Ah, good old Alfred, he’s been bringing me Essen and LOTS of coffee. He wasn’t too happy with me after I was down here for a week, but since it’s been almost two weeks without me even setting foot up in the manor,...

 Becca, Gothic Princess
Becca, Gothic Princess
Becca looked up as her mother went out the door. She whispered to one of the guards and then reentered the room. Becca gave her a look but Kendra just smiled coyly. A Sekunde later, a girl about two years older than Becca entered the room. Her long blonde hair fell to her knees, her eyes as red as a spring rose. She was dressed in a blue gown, similar to that of her mothers.
“Becca!”
“Fiore!”
The two hugged and Becca looked up into Fiore's eyes.
“How did Du survive? I thought he killed you!”
“Anton is great with weapons but my magic is stronger.”
Becca's eyes teared up again as her...

‘Phase one, complete. On to phase two!’ I thought
I grabbed a really full glass of water and walked over to Wally.
“Water? Du must be thirsty from running all the way here from…where were Du again?” I asked. Behind Wally, Artemis was making gagging motions
“I was in star, sterne City” he sagte matter-of-factly
“Wow. That’s far for a person to run” I laid the flattery on pretty thick. I offered him the water, spilling it on his shirt. That was not part of the plan. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Megan and Robin laughing slightly. I closed the gates of my mind. I looked at my hands....

”You, mortals, how did Du get up here?” Hades commanded while Athena seemed to be figuring out a strategy to get rid of them.
”Oh brother, don’t be so dramatic. I allowed them here” sagte another new voice
”Zeus? Du let them up here?” I asked, thoroughly confused.
”It was either them oder a Scythian drakon. I know a drakon wouldn’t have done much harm, but we’re still re-furbishing so it would have set back the process Von a Monat oder 2” he confessed
”Sarah!” they all yelled. Well except for Super boy, but the look on his face showed his relief.
”Hey guy’s! What happened...

"Win again!" Artemis cheered as she bet Wally at a game of chess. Wally sighed. Artemis gave him another punch.
"Your cheating!" Wally shouted. Artemis put her hands on her hips.
"Why would Du think that?" Wally pointed at Robin at far end of the room.
"Wally! Don't be so stupid!" Artemis replied. Wally angrily glared at Artemis.
"Stop helping her Robs!" Wally sagte as he ran up to him. Robin looked up from his phone.
"I'm not helping her!" Wally snatched Robin's phone and held it up in the air.
"Hey!" Robin tried to grab his phone off Wally but he was too fast.
"I'm so close to beating my high...

Beep! Beep! Beep!
Artemis shot right up from her bett and hit the alarm clock with her right hand and smashed it to pieces.
Red Arrow stood outside her open bedroom door looking at the pieces of the alarm clock on the floor.
"What are Du looking at?" inturupted Artemis as she got out of bed. Roy looked at her questioningly. Artemis shoved Roy as she got out of her room.
"Hey!" Roy sagte in a high voice. "What's your problem?" Artemis stopped at the edge of the stairs. She sighed and replied,
"Sorry. I guess I'm still mad at Wally!" Roy walked up to her.
"Rough night." The two archers began walking...

Chapter 13-

"Nightwing?"

"Report Wondergirl."

"Batgirl isn't responding."

Dick cursed under his breath.

"Knowing Batgirl, she's probably touring the sites."

"But Batgirl seems so, into the missions." Wondergirl replied.

"Give her until morning before we start worrying." Nightwing said.

Revenge staggered.

"What?" Batgirl asked.

"The oxygen..." Revenge gasped. "We're heading the wrong way."

Barbara didn't notice any lack of oxygen. Not until she walked a few feet in front of her. It was as if she had passed through a barrier. Oxygen was depleted.

"Okay, now what?" Barbara asked, stepping back towards...

Serepta walked into the core of headquarters. She typed in several commands, leaning over the desk. Several Bilder appeared on the huge screen. She smirked. I warned them before. Don't mess with me. Foolish heroes.
“Who to see to first?”
Serepta tapped her fingers on the desk.
“Looking fabulous today, aren't we?”
Serepta smirked over at her boyfriend. Usual flirt that he was. He was good at it too. Just loved to flirt with himself.
“And who would Du be talking to?” Serepta asked, crossing her legs seductively.
“You of course. I already know I look good.”
Serepta turned back to...
