He watched her face, looking for any signs of manipulation. But her face was resolute and sorrowful. He felt the fear of her worry. He closed his eyes, forcing himself to believe it was happening. Because it was and for good reason. But that didn't stop the heartache.
"Don't worry; I understand."
Her tears fell and she hugged him, touched him for what very well could have been the last time.
"Thank you. I was so worried.."
"You don't need to be."
She pulled away and looked at him. He gently cupped her face and kissed her forehead. Then looked her in the eye.
"Go and be free of all things, Blade Howard."
He took her hand, removing the ring he had long Vor gegeben her. He held it before her.
"Just know this: If ever Du come back to me, and this sits once again on your finger, Du must never break that promise again."
He looked at her, serious tension radiating off of him.
"If Du do, I can't protect the monster you'll unleash."
She nodded, understanding that it hurt him as much as it was hurting her. She thanked him one last time and left.
He sunk back into the shadows, the place where nothing could ever pierce him. We warned you, a voice hissed at him. It's time for Du to come back. Unleash us with your pain. Others joined in and his pain was so great, he almost did as they asked. But he opened his eyes, finding himself in the room of the one person who would give him peace and comfort. He laid down on her bed, just breathing her scent in. She walked in to find him tormented Von his own pain. She came and laid beside him, hugging him, somehow knowing all that ran through him. And he clung to her, letting himself sob in who knew how long. He hugged her and cried and she cried with him. Because his girl had gone and the pain of loving and losing her was far too great for him to bär alone.
"All Du can do know is Liebe her," she whispered between her own sobs of grief for this creature who was Mehr broken than any.
"I will always Liebe her."
And he held her tighter because even in his grief, there was still one who would never leave.
No, this was not one-sided. This was a mutual agreement and this is Terror's side of the story.
